Four Colour Studios have announced that the Kickstarter drive for their latest game, Ghosts of Hefei, has now begun. They are looking to raise $10,000 for the creation and printing of their rulebook, as well as an exclusive range of miniatures to support the game. Ghosts of Hefei is designed with four factions in mind, and each of these factions will have miniatures created for them, depending on the stretch goals which the project reaches. Renowned French sculptor PF has been retained to create these miniatures, and examples of what Four Colour studios aims to achieve are available on our website.

Ghosts of Hefei is a miniature based skirmish game, set in the 2070’s where human fabricated simulants, or fabricants, now fulfil many roles in society. The Chinese city of Hefei is now a great factory town, where the human population is dwarfed by the millions of fabricants surrounding

them. In this empty city, criminal gangs violently compete for money and fabricants as they are a lucrative prize in the global black market. Our players will lead their gangs to success and riches, while avoiding the many pitfalls that this entails. This is the Godfather in a dark, cyberpunk future.

Ghost of Hefei has been created by the same team that successfully Kickstarted The Department, also available from Four Colour Studios, and involves the same personnel who made that project a success. Scott Pyle has been commissioned to further refine the goal-system based rule set, Joe Dragovich continues in his role as Creative Lead, and Kieran Mathers returns to provide the in-game fiction.

They just added a $20 pledge level. Two gangs plus the rules in pdf. As it was my idea I backed it but it's a good deal. The $20 includes p&p to anywhere in the world.

We have a new update, a 15mm fabricant for the Yakuza faction.



The Yakuza operating Hefei eschew traditional human muscle and instead employ fabricants piloted remotely from Japan. Yakuza pilots are almost entirely teenagers enlisted temporarily to "play the game" as a fabricant pilot in Hefei.

Being a Yakuza pilot is one of the safest jobs in the Hefei underworld. They are safe in Japan for the most part (unless they cross their Yakuza bosses) and since they have not technically committed a crime in Japan, they are not a concern for the Japanese police.  Old National rivalries ensure that the Japanese are reluctant to extradite their young people to face a Chinese court.

However, Yakuza fabricants are far from the perfect soldiers on the ground. Latency issues with their long-distance connection makes them slow and cumbersome at times and fabricants are not difficult to hack if they stray beyond the range of friendly hackers on the ground. To counter this weakness, Yakuza field hackers will jump into friendly fabricants and pilot them directly at critical moments during the battle.
