Pirate Babes and Cowgirls NEW PHOTO
« on: 30 April 2013, 03:51:06 PM »
Because some people asked for them I'm posting a group shot of my Pirate Babe collection. This was serious work for me as two were done on commission and the other three went by private sale.

If there is an interest in seeing more, I can post individual close ups pics, front and back of each figure. I believe the convention here is to just add them to this existing thread. Please advise if otherwise.

Thank you.

The Pirate Babes are LOVELY...GREAT color choices & brushwork as always! I, for one, would love to see individual shots of the Ladies. VERY WELL DONE!

I would imagine that how you post your photos is more or less a personal choice. I lump mine all in one humongous thread...it makes it easier for Folks of discerning taste to avoid.

Sorry, I went right to your blog and didn't comment here :)

The babes rock! Look at all that flesh! It simply glows. Awesome and add me to the list of those who want to see close-ups.

Coming from you that means a great deal as I've been looking at your brushwork with admiration for some time now. I'll get a pic up here shortly.

Thank you! I'm looking for a blushing smiley but can't find one. The great paints you see are my husbands, mine are the average paints. I'm not being self-depreciating, just he's much better than I & I don't want to claim his work. I used to be able to say the Nick Lund's were all mine, then we finally went and bought 50 of them from mirliton and they now have the advantage.

We're a great team but when we paint side-by-side there never seems to be enough brown paint to go around :) And I don't share my brushes.

This one is named Suzy Swagger.

She's from Dark Sword and was sculpted by Jeff Grace. To me, Jeff Grace and Tom Meier sculpt the most elegant and feminine females out there.

I make my own backgrounds using ArtRage and/or Photoshop. They're not professional, just for my own fun.

Suzie's eyes are like they are because she's also a Zombie Hunter. I know, I know strange, but it's from a story on my blog. If you want to, you can read it, but it's silly. Here's the link to it.

I will post more of them later. It's dinner time!

Bon appetite!
Suzy is a BEAUTY...TERRIFIC brushwork, color choices, skin tones, & the most startlingly blue eyes. VERY WELL DONE!
As to sculptors, I'm rather fond of Julie Guthrie's Girls also.

Tasty little pirate babes indeed, Anne! A pity that they are already hired, because I feel an urge to pressgang them into my crew for the Merry Mermaid...Ma´m you know to handle your brush!

Ah, I can always count on you to bring me back to the good old days, DeafNala. I recall being in brick-and-mortar game shops (very hard to find where I am in the US nowadays) and the Guthrie's would pop out from amongst the static, here-are-my-weapons figures that seemed to dominate the shelves.

Anne- totally agree with you about those 2 sculptors as well. Tom Meier sells his stuff here:

and he did a couple of cute figures for his kids:
