The rest of the chaps have it right - it's an RPK light machinegun. That front bit under the barrel should be a folded bipod. They generally have drums but the 30-50 round "banana" magazines are also accepted by the receiver. As far as the furniture, modern the Russian military has black plastic stock and forearm, but if it's an older gun, 70's-90's it would be bird's eye maple or standard maple, depending on the region it was made in. Virtually all Eastern European countries made these, with Romania making some very good models.
