Anzacs?

Any vehicle designs in mind?
Otherwise they're a bit low-tech.

We kitbashed a few armoured lorries for 1919 Spartakists & Freikorps using Zvezda trucks as a (relatively cheap) skeleton to build on.
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Wouldn't have to be low tech, as after the first martian invasion the British had access to the martian tech and would have engineered new weapons which their close allies would use.

From what I am reading in the comments section of the KS page, it seems that they are getting very close to making a deal with a "well respected" distributer in the UK.

The Anzacs aren't allies - they're dominions :~}
I always think of them as being very... rural?
NZ is grassy with lots of sheep, not much industry, Australian states are mostly a barren wilderness with grassy patches, and again not much industry (looking from a 1900-1910 perspective). The low-tech was as much in reference to the infrastructure as anything. Historically, I'm not sure if the Anzacs actually supplied much heavy equipment - although that may be down to image (stereotypical infantry in slouch hat and light cavalry, with a disdain for officers and all things mechanical).

Although I would envisage the Anzacs as being quite good at devising obstacles to hinder/disable Martians.
Thinking on the lines of something low tech, trip wires perhaps. They have to contend with kangaroos (and large herds of camels) and have been looking at fences for a long time, so it seems a logical progression.

As somebody who pledged at Invasion level, that's pretty neat!

Say, does anybody know where you can get those cool little trucks and wagons in the pictures?

UK Distributor now available:

Quote
We are very pleased to announce that Renedra, the renowned manufacturer and retailer of plastic miniatures and accessories, has agreed to act as our European Union distributor for the All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter only.  We could not be happier with this outcome since Architects of War, our sister company, is the Exclusive North American distributor for Renedra.

What does this mean for you if you live in the UK or EU?  There will be no increase in the flat rate shipping charge!  You will receive the shipment of your pledge, freebies and any add-on goodies by paying the previously stated flat rate shipping, no additional charges.

So, we have 3 different categories that you can fall into…

**US – Free shipping

**UK and EU – Flat rate shipping stated in the pledge levels or shipping policy for Add-ons.  No Vat or other import duties will be charged to you.

**Everybody Else – Flat rate shipping stated in the pledge levels or shipping policy for Add-ons.  You will be responsible for any duty or taxes charged at the time of delivery, if applicable.

Please let us know if you have any questions.  Thank you all for being so patient while we hammered out the details!

Barb

Broke $175K pledge level.

It appears, from what I can tell, is that what they are really hoping for is to make $250K. This would allow them to do a lot more stuff in plastic and bring the price down.

They are at 180K with 8 days to go.

Sadly disappointed by the BEF designs.
Armoured cars that look like 1920s Crossleys, the 1930s US monowheel, and then some tanks that look like reminiscent of the 1944 Tortoise project.
They just don't really look very Edwardian.

Not that I disagree with your analysis, but what would be more Edwardian in appearance?  I have not a clue (my story is I am a colonial and I am sticking to that that...) about what they might look like...

Gracias,

Glenn

I suppose I've spent too many days at Bovington over the years.

The Wippet and the FT17 have always been family favourites, although the Gun Carrier Mark 1 was an interesting design.
The Mother-shaped vehicles (Mark IV etc) are ok, but too stereotypical, although the Mark V and Mark IX troop carriers are possibly not seen enough.

Well, I did comment on the designs before the KS started up that they mostly looked like variants of the 1916 British Mark IV, and wondered why they couldn't look for US designs to expand on, even if they started with the 1900 Davisons.
Given that there were experiments with machine-gun cars (largely unarmoured, but they had wheels and a motor) in Illinois in 1897, and Ford's Model T rolled off the production lines in mid-1908 I wondered about the coal-powered concept too.
More so given that the first British tank - 1914 Willie - was based on a petrol-driven track unit that originated in California in 1904.
Given that the first American tanks, the 1918 6-ton, were based on the FT17, and the Ford 3-ton has a similar look, I would have thought they may be a better design-base.
I also suggested looking at some of the French armour for a more exotic look, the Schneider or St Chamond perhaps, or the Italian Fiat 2000.
