modern game hunter miniatures?
« on: May 12, 2013, 01:58:32 AM »
Hi folks, anyone know of any manufacturers who might make miniatures of modern-era hunters?  I am talking about hunter orange vests, long rifles, caps, that sorta thing.  Like this guy here:

or this:

Just some random google images, but you get the idea.  I am not sure where to start looking for something that could look like this?

The only thing that comes to mind are MiniatureMOJO's Scavenge Skirmish Survive line

Thanks for the pics, but its not quite what I had in mind.  I might just have to hire a sculptor to sculpt exactly what I am looking for.  Anyone have any suggestions?  8)

Could you not get some military snipers from somewhere and do head swaps with some baseball capped heads from  SWAT or something?

Crooked Dice do TLS Heads separately would take much to round them off into baseball caps.

Indeed, I am aware of the cost.  The project in mind is a personal one with emotional attachments, so the cost could be justified if I cannot find suitable miniatures to use.

A good idea, though the main problem is that military figures use military style rifles, usually with some sort of pistol-type grip.  I would want the figures to have traditional style hunting rifles like this:

I can do some modifications and small bits of sculpting myself, but I don't think I have the talent to modify the type and grip on a rifle.  Thats a pretty big job considering how the guns are typically sculpted on figures...

hmmm...

Might be a bit of a caricature, but there is this figure from Lead Adventure.

Eureka do some nice KSK snipers. One is standing, has a scoped bolt action rifle and is wearing a fairly shapeless big smock with the shoulders covered in scrim, a sort of half bothered ghillie suit if you will. The other is in a wool beanie and a hoodie with a vest over the top and toting a HK PSG sniper rifle. Appropriately painted and some optional conversion work, pretty easy to see both standing in as civilian hunters.

What about this with the right PJ and maybe some head swaps.
