Bi-plane WIP
« on: May 21, 2013, 03:30:48 PM »
I am assembling some planes for my upcoming Pulp Alley games.  The world will be slightly different, so there are some unexpected surprises (like WWI lasting a few years longer).  Anyway, this is what I bought:

And this is how it's coming along.  It's owned by a very wealthy, yet very eccentric aviator:

 :o

Is that paintjob the result of incredibly careful masking or are you in fact a wizard?

Myincubliss......(looks around to make sure no one is watching)...Yes, yes I am a wizard with mad crazy painting skills.   ;)

Thanks! 6milPhil  :)

To be honest, I wasn't sure where I should post this and if I should.  The folks on LAF are just so incredibly talented that I wasn't sure if I should post pics.  Really, some of the talent on LAF is just insanely gorgeous, I expect half the painted figures to jump off the screen and do a jig.  I posted some stuff earlier on the Workbench board and the folks gave me some very kind encouragement, so I thought "Why not?".

Magnificently colorful.  :)
Also looking forward to seeing your pulp ally setting.

I know what you mean, but the great thing is we all just get better and better - but even then there's always something which comes close to making you snap your brushes into two. Although seeing everyone else's work can just make us all try harder it can just put folk off. I don't think I'd ever post a figure paint job on the Steve Dean forum, the standard is just too high for mine to ever really fit in...  ;)

Looks stunning! I'm wondering what the pilot wears when he flies it?

Pusher-props are brilliant. Is weekend edition the brand?
It's nothing, sir. Just a burn from a ray gun.

Shiny leather aviation suit of course :D

Great colourful paintjob, will be interesting to read more about the setting.

Thanks everyone for the compliments!  In the spirit of full disclosure, I do NOT recommend this model for anyone.  The tail pieces are far too heavy for the struts (that was a lovely surprise).  I had to cut a new tail section out of construction paper.   :-[  The supports on the wings do NOT line up on this model.  I am very disappointed in this model.  The previous tri-plane model I purchased from the Eduard models line turned out great.  So yeah...... :?

Loving this idea!  :-*

We picked up a few planes recently as well... but Mila won't let me play with them until we finish writing the Perilous Island book. Grrr...  lol

Can't wait to see what you have planned Jedininja.  :D
