From ancient D-Day, here is Marcus "Flatnose" Tiberius on his way to the swampy coast of an unknown hostile land ...

I didn't know Blighty was all that bad  ;)

Those are lovely little vignettes  :-* :-*

Are they to be used in game or just for display?

cheers

James

Those vignettes are fantastic, Admiral! The sense of motion in your models is amazing.

The whole thread has been very inspiring for me. There are some gorgeous paints, and I love hearing the "I never would have painted this figure if not for this idea" stories!

A Celtic Civilian from Warlord's Hail Caesar Collection

She's not properly based as she will be part of a scene later.

Folks, it's getting better and better. I just cannot pick one of the last entries for a favourite, they are all great additions to the Hall of Fame. :-*

Tremendous.  And knowing your ingenuity I bet that base fits into a larger one too doesn't it

Well, if it would have been a larger project I would have done group bases, but not this time.

Are they to be used in game or just for display?
cheers
James

The plan was to use them as decorative add-ons for our club game "Mona Insula", but as they hadn't been finished in time, they are display pieces now. At least until we plan another game with romans ...

I keep several shades of off white, Dove grey, woolen, linen, unbleached cotten, etc. I think I may have as many as 20 different shades.

The quality of painting on this thread is outstanding. I'll soon sort that if I get my gladiators finished! (IF!).

Back from vacation and still hooked on this thread. Musketeer Miniatures released some of Arthur´s knights, I bought them all and painted Gawain first.
