Looks like 'syrinx0' has already started. Sounds like people don't want to stick with a single army theme. So let's say we just do at least one unit a month & keep it going for at least 5 months. We could start now if ready or join in August. See how many are in and how it is going to set the cut off. Or perhaps keep it rolling as an ongoing thing. I think if we are each doing our own threads we should header them the same, say Army Painter with your name. My thread would be 'Army Painter HerbyF'. I'm ready to roll with this. looks like I see at least a half a dozen others interested.

I know I'm going to regret it, but I'm in. It seems like the perfect way to do my FIW/AWI project. :D

Thinking of joining in as well, to get out of this painters block I'm in. So can someone do a run down of the rules for this challenge?

Not a lot of rules.  Paint a unit a month for the next couple of months. Start a thread in the Workbench with "(Army Painter) - your army description" as the title. List out what you plan to do in the thread and update monthly or more often if that helps you stay motivated.

It seems easy enough, right?  lol

simplest rule: one unit per month. I will start August and announce the miniatures, as I proposed before. Others have already started.

But noone keeps you from setting up your own rules if it suits you

So there are a couple of posts now but i do have a question. What's the point of doing this when hardly anyone responds? Plenty of views but roughly 4 people actually make any comments

The point for me is that I work better with deadlines ;)

Just a moderate excuse for me to get something done with some unpainted figures. Normally I paint half a years worth of figures during the LPL, I want to sustain the pressure  lol

Right! I enjoy the comments, but it is more about sticking to your goal, and showing what you've done. I hope everyone enjoys it, but it is really to keep me motivated to get a significant amount of work done.

I just noticed this is going on.  It looks like fun, and I have some 15mm Africans I want to paint up for AK47 Republic (or something similar), so I'm in.  I wonder, are the forum moderators willing to make a child board for this, like the "Build Something" board?  It would be nice to be able to find all these threads in one place, so I can see what people are doing and how much progress they are making.

…and I’m out…

For two reasons. First, I realise that the WSS French army I was planning to paint was a tad bigger than expected and there’s a rather big painting commission coming my way soon. So I’ll revive my old painting log thread instead…

Well I took pictures, prepped & painted some French sailors this month. Have my Senegalese Trigailiers ready for August. Just have to figure out how to post pictures. Tried a test posting on my work bench & failed.
