The town of El Cheapo
« on: 25 June 2013, 06:44:15 PM »
Lately I've been drifting towards Old West gaming and I've started on some terrain. Although there are magnificent laser cut buildings available, I've started with some budget models. Pictures should be clickable to larger versions if all goes well.

From left to right the following are featured
Plastcraft games (modified, pre-cut PVC ) - 5,5 €
Scratchbuilt - some card and foamboard
Total System Scenic (resin building) - 8£
Perry Miniatures (plastic kit)- 15£

The Plastcraft games are maybe the least known. A kit consists of one or more pre-cut sheets with some resin detailing (doors/windows/chimney/...)

I've added clapboard sides (thin card) and some extra windows on the side. Straight from the pack it looked a little too cheap and I wasn't confident that I could paint in wooden boards realistically enough.

No pre-painting pictures from that one - sorry.

The scratch-built was modelled to fit in with the TSS one

I'm rather pleased with the way these turned out. Construction is extremely simple and I think I could fill up a table quite quickly.

I like my games like my orange juice: pulpy with no added sugar or artificial sweeteners

Looks great.  My "Purgatory", AZ, is entirely scratchbuilt as well, foam core and balsa.

Looks damn good to me.  I'd be more than happy to game there.

This is the company website: http://www.plastcraftgames.com/en/

I have another one of their western kits - I'll try to remember to take some pictures after assembly (straight from the pack) and after 'pimping' it up bu before painting.
