How do their Landmates scale up to other 28's? I've always wanted some too.

There's a pic here taken from Donogh McCarthy's excellent blog where he uses them as corporate PA suits in 25mm games of Tomorrow's War using GZG Stargrunt figures:

The AAR's are well worth a read! ;)

A work in progress shot of the building I've been working on recently. It still needs a front door, and maybe some more vertical pieces to break up the windows on the tower. Then the real tough decision comes, how do I paint the damn thing.

Front

Back

and size comparison with the Gibson Building (which I still haven't finished painting).

I want this to be a more futuristic building, which means I'll have to use a cleaner paint style then what I've been doing for the street vendors and such. I might start by priming it in white, do a gradational tone in the windows, then mask it off those windows and spray the structure a darker color. What do you guys think?

Lovely work - very tidy lines!

 :)

I'd agree that it warrants a brighter bolder colour scheme....could be covered in dirt at the same time, unless its got a cleaning bot....?

A dark color for the walls, maybe plain dark grey, and then dim yellow or even bluish white for the windows.

Another update. I thought I'd never finish the white building from the last post. It took three different attempts before I found a look that I liked. The lesson in this is: Dirty buildings are easier to paint then clean buildings. Anyway, here we go.

Starting with the Royal Pain...

and a shot from the back.

Next we have a building that I made while I was trying to figure out what to do with the first one. It's either a garage or a personal residence with built in car port.

The roof piece comes off to access the interior. The foggy windows were intentional. It lets light in, but doesn't look too clean.

and a rear shot that shows off the garage in question. Actually I'm not sure if this is the back or the front.

and finally, some more civilians. Nothing spectacular. Just people to fill up the space and become potential hostages. These are all Superfigs Civilian figures. (And yes, the guy with the camera is supposed to be Peter Parker.)

Lots more to do for this project and the deadline is approaching. Is that a ticking clock I hear?

Impressive scratch builds mister.
Civilians look great.
What materials did you use to make the buildings?
I am getting the urge to go to Roc-con and play as it will be just an hour for me to get there.
No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.

Really fun to see how this is progressing - everythig is looking great!  :-*  And I'm happy to see you can get BGC figures again.  I loved that series when I was younger (still have them on VHS) and always wanted some for my games.

Can't have too many civilians, especially nicely painted ones. Buildings are coming along nicely. Love the Boomers, going to have to get some.

That second building is excellant, really fits the blade runner vibe, but I could also see it being used in other settings like post apoc. Fantastic.

I hate to be the one to say it, (mainly as there's so many of them,) but I think you really need to do something more with the windows on the modern building. It seems a shame just to leave them flat after you took so much time with such a beautiful scratch build.

What about just putting a blue grey highlight in the lower corner and then just a white dot in the upper corner to suggest they're rflective?

Thanks for all the wonder compliments. Miniman, Braz, jimbibbly, hubbabubba, I'm always in awe of your work. You guys are an inspiration.

I know what you mean. It does need some work on the windows. I'll probably leave them for now while I make sure the boards are full, but once I have everything done I'll go back and finish the windows. I'm think of doing a dark blue fill with streaks that run diagonally across the whole face of the structure. This will give the building a comic book/anime look that I'm looking for.

Of course now I'll probably end up doing that sooner, since I've written out the game plan.

Next up, the ground boards that the buildings sit on. Oh, and a few more buildings.

Here are some WIP shots of my first ground pieces that go on either side of the road. I just finished putting together two of the four this morning. I'm not even sure if the glue is dry. Here goes.

Tops of the two boards...

one of the boards turned upside down. At the front of this one you can see the half inch lip that will overlap the road section. It's grey.

and finally a picture of the two boards against the road section.

If I can get the other two boards done in the next two days I can once again focus on making buildings. Or painting citizens. Or modifying vehicles.
Would someone shut that damn clock up?

Nice looking boards - will look great once the buildings/vehicles and some clutter are on them.
