Van Helsings Shadowrun "Tidbits"
« on: August 01, 2013, 06:54:38 PM »
Like Vor, Shadowrun was another game I adored - both as a player and a Games Master.

Unfortunately - most have gotten chipped to buggery whilst in storage (I am convinced Figure Case manufacturers use grit and gravel when producing Foam for figure cases) - thes few are the ones that need no repairs (that I can see), though they do need re-basing.

My own Main Character Warlock, in his first incarnation was quite tiny - 25mm and was one of the first Miniatures I painted for Shadowrun (way back in 1992).

My Second Warlock Miniature, older and wiser - wearing Body Armour now ;) (all these were painted between 1992 and 1997 or there abouts).

Two Lone-Star Cops, from the Grenadier range - one converted to be a Mage using Ral-Partha Bits.

A rough and ready (and unvarnished from the sheen) Grenadier Elf Ganger.

A Grenadier Orc Mercenary, I used as an NPC in one of my games as I remember.

Another NPC, this time a Grenadier Human Shaman.

Lastly a "Military Man" (also Grenadier).

There are around another 40 or so that are chipped or broken, kinda gutted really. I'm going to try and touch up/repair the rest at some point with any Luck.

LOL...we have the same tastes.

I have every blister and boxed set Ral Partha and Grenadier produced.

Yeah....I got issues

I have found that many of the Werewolf the Apocalypse figures produced by Ral Partha also work with the Shadowrun line.

Pass the word to your wallet...

I have a whole bunch of those figures too, and none of them look that good.  Some fantastic painting there.  You have a very steady hand to get that kind of quality out of those old Grenadeir sculpts, and this is coming from a fan.

I like the older 25mm figures, but matching them up to anything available now is tough.  On the other hand, when you paint up the miniatures and put them all on the same style of base the scale issues aren't as noticeable.  I use the older Shadowrun and Cyberpunk figures for my Aliens/Colonial Marines games, as well as Judge Dredd.

Excellent figures I have so many of those figures as well.  I always wanted to play a Shadow run miniature game but never got around to finding a good rule set for it.  I'd love to see some more tidbits.

Thats the plan Bloodysword, re-basing and repairing - there was (is?) a rumour of a Shadowrun Skirmish game coming out.

Yea, BigB I have a fair few Mage/Vampire/Werewolf Miniatures myself.

Thanks Michka (and everyone else) such comments/compliments are always appreciated.
