I bought into them adain after a 15+ year hiatus ( Kill team, Necromunda, Underworlds and Warcry especially ) but I really don't like sprue cleaning and cutting, filling gaps etc before I even can start priming. And all that time and effort even for simple rank and file models...  So yeah, played a couple of those new games and really enjoyed it but those models, nope. And they are getting worse and worse again, more and more just simple cut @ paste digital dollies with detail on a seperate sprue to stick onto them. And with those prices and Fomo-policy of theirs I'm out and this time forever.

Good there are new oldstyle models being released almost daily and Osprey/Northstar keep on releasing nice quick games and good and affordable mini's so I still won't get stuck with some leftover money

The big goat-rat thing isn't my cup of tea at all, though: I can't imagine he'd be much fun to paint, and he looks way too big to work in most skirmish games.

It feels like GW is really pushing the term 'miniature' with those big plastics. I remember being gobsmacked when GW released the plastic giant sometime in 00s and thinking it was unnecessarily big, but these new centerpiece creations absolutely dwarf it.
And Fat Rat is very unique sculpt, I give it that. Lackeys 'cowering' under their lord's cape is a funny detail. I noticed his fancy sword too, it looks like something straight from Confrontation.

To me, it looks like the sculptor was going for the "cobbled-together-from scraps" look that was popular with the "evil armies" back in the day, e.g. Heinrich Kemmler, but it looks as if they forgot the stitching holding the parts together.

I think you're right, detail like that goes unnoticed much easier than a huge, unintended gap between parts. Hopefully it didn't cost sculptor their job.

Love the new skaven , those vespids are really nice though a vast improvement on the old ones!

An odd question, but why do GW exclude the UK from their smaller board games?
Like space marine adventure, warhammer quest lost relic and such?

As a solo gamer, things like this would be good for me, yet I can t buy them anywhere here.

I'm not sure but I always assumed it was because they have pretty solid market saturation in the UK. I know I would have bought combat patrol if they'd sold it in the UK.

That would be my guess too. Are/were those games exclusively sold at Barnes & Noble, Walmart or what have you? If so, GW must have seen the deal they got with them worth it. Guessing grand plan here was indeed to bring more people aware of Warhammer in general.

Not in Canada. Must be a U.S. market thing.

The early games like space marine adventures eventually saw UK release through GAME - and ended up being avaliable quite cheaply as a result.

I'm afraid my cynicism gland kicked in and predicted it'll be one of those where it starts out with some great mins, but you have to keep collecting to get the squad and the full subscription ends up costing you 5 times the cost of the plastic miniatures. That's assuming of course you don't have to collect every single faction at once as well!
