The warlord of my soon to be ready for combat Norman warband is Godfrey of Montmirail, a character once played by French actor Jean Reno.
He is dirty, filthy and mean. The banner is made of printer paper, soaked with white glue and painted freehand.

Like that a lot. Damn you sirrah, I'm already halfway into my Gael-Norse warband and there you go turning my head with Normans!*

*With Norman's what?
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

No. 42

Baron Jakob von Sudetten, at the head of a unit of knights and their retainers...as soon as I finish painting them  :)
He is an old Citadel miniature that I bought on ebay a long time ago
I'm going to have to change the way I photograph my figures, the lights are putting a horrible glare on the miniatures.  His isn't that shinny in person, honest.

No. 39: Morthwyl–y-Goch ... Gael-Norse Raider circa C9th-C11th

Morthwyl is modelling this season's must-have item, a check cloak with hammer and shield accessories. He certainly won't be plaid by anyone, and shows he is equally at home tartan it about on board ship or braining a resisting villager.

His natural style is certainly a hit with the ladies, which is made all the easier when they're concussed and being dragged by the hair back to the boats. Equally stylish on the catwalk or the high street, his unique 'Isle of Man' look is easily complemented by oily iron, bloodstained leather and sweat-soaked fur, for that all-round coastal raider ensemble.

Darling, love the cloak, *love* the hammer. Who does your moustaches?

Great work gentlemen.

Justin, yes he's looking a wee bit shiny, but I like the subtlety of that grey and yellow livery.

Michi, that is a beautiful Norman.

And Iain, you're brave indeed to show your excellent Claymore Castings knight in such forensic close-up detail! I love the finish on his bascinet.

And now...

No. 43 - longbowman in the service of the DeBrasseys of Tandridge

Perry plastic figure. Obviously.

Just found this... Where have I been? A few figures from the tales of shed wood might make an appearance

Great work, chaps, loving the new additions to the Order.
The standard really is top drawer.

Michi, I have to ask: Where is that Norman from.
I love that pose.

Richard: A selection of massive heads ( ;)) and other bits has been sorted and wings its way to you later.

I'm late in finding the new club this time. Beautiful work so far and going very quickly. I've loads of Medieval figures to paint, but have no time. I will follow the thread though :-* :-*

I'm still marvelling at all those great, great entries. :o Hats off to all participants so far!

The warlord of my soon to be ready for combat Norman warband is Godfrey of Montmirail, a character once played by French actor Jean Reno.

Ah, French comedy at its best (the first and only "Les Visiteurs" movie that is!), and still one of my favourites. "Que trépasse si je faiblis!" :D

Wonderful mini! Where's he from?

It's an old GW fig. Got him 10+ years ago.

The shovel is something I cobbled together - and includes a shoulder pad from an old plastic space marine.

THANKS
