No. 130 Wayne the Bruce (Foundry)

What a good excuse to paint something a little different.  This is a decent model from Foundry (Foot Knights pack) with a quick and easy paint job. Attaching the shield after painting each separately was rather frustrating considering that the shield peg was too short.  I ended up using a bit of greenstuff to fill the hole, then repainted the outside of the shield and covered it with the symbol.

Holy Battle Axe!

Will we see Robin, his squire, in this thread soon?

Awesome painting from all of you!

A leftover Viking with a leftover christian shield decal. Don't know what that makes him...?

Nice work, imurdentist.
Especially that face, very expressive.

Some Danes did convert to Christianity once they settled, so not so difficult to imagine.
Or he may be a Saxon... ;)

@Vonkluge- That is another great looking Norman, you will soon be turning them out faster than Captain Blood!!

Well to be able to best the good Captain at anything would be quite a feather in ones cap! I think it is more because this just happens to be the period i'm interested in right now, and since its quite "new" too me I'm a bit on fire to get some "Warbands" on the table.... I have just reached the "magic" 6 point mark for forces in the SAGA game rules with my Normans so may breath easier (9 more knights yet to be posted!). I will probably paint up the "Flemish" mercenaries next to give them a bit of flexibility in unit selection and the start on the "Vikings" I have 8 more Norman Cav (Warriors not Knights) to paint for even more variance in the Norman Warband but I'm getting a bit tired of the extra work in the horses so I take a break from them. My vikings are nearly all Foundry so it will be nice to move to a different manufacturer for a bit, so be fun to paint as I love the sculpts!

IMURDENTIST, Love the job you did on the viking! the transfer looks great and you blended it nicely, I'm going to steal that idea and try to paint it. ;D

CAPTAIN BLOOD, lovely work as usual, I like the fact that while we seem to be posting neck and neck, our styles are so different! I would love to see one of your figures in person as minis look sometimes very different then. Our styles sorta seem like you are painting on the "good" side, light, pretty, wonderful, painted while sitting on a cloud, while mine look, dull, dirty, terrifying, and painted while exploring a cave!  lol, too much fun!

Great work by all and this thread has really helped me focus and inspired me to paint my "Dark Ages" figures, thanks to all you contributors!

One of my Norman Levy units, nothing special, quickly painted in a unit of 12, most of which I wont post..... they are intentionaly dirty and rough as they would be recruited from the peasant class and be fairly poor, arrow and bowstring added from brass stock ::)

No. 133 NORMAN Levy Bowman.

A question to the moderator, Welf VIII.:

Will we get another nice little logo from you for participating in this show?

In the end, you know, we're only in here for the laurels ...

I actually sold this one on ebay a couple of weeks ago but the buyer wanted some leggings painted on, so I'm considering him newly finished  :D
