exactly if he had offered the box set with out actual models and instead used some kind of standee or token to represent the actual Vehicle he would have been able to afford the game and get it out there.

The minis could have been added on as an "ADD ON" once enough funding was reached.
the hype and excitement would have been driven from those vehicles, terrain and other items added with each goal met.

Having three goals $39k, $59k and $79k is pointless...

If he had done just the game itself it could have been funded by now. then set up goals to add in the models...

Shame.... I am passing on this stuff to Greg from Outrider... what not to do for a car-meggdon style Kickstarter.

When you have folks over pledge for as of yet unavailable reward levels, once they realize that reward level won't be hit and drop out there can be a disproportionate drop in funding.   2 folks dropped out today according to Kicktraq, for a loss of $370.  With the max reward level really $100 it should have been a drop of only $200.  Now, perhaps others are adjusting their pledges downwards and that makes up part of the $370, we don't really know from the data presented.

Either way, at this point in a slow kickstart project some folks jump ship.   It is not an automatic kiss of death, often a project manager will figure out a way to reverse the trend curve/revitalize the project and they can still end strong/get funded.  Right now though folks are voting with their wallets.   Project does not look likely to succeed?   Take out your funds.  No one likes to back a losing horse except the Real Road Warriors!TM.   Again, if those guys would follow their stated principles that over pledging is GOOD for the project and each up their pledge by 10k we easily reach the 79k funding level.

Yes, that is sarcasm Ladies and Gents.

They have 183 backers, so in reality with pledges effectively locked at $100.00, the number really shouldnt be much higher than 18.3k.

Miles has really started to get personal, but I thought it was important to stay on target :)

I suspect that on Oct 10, Road Kill will be a memory and a reoccuring joke for the rest of us to enjoy....

I just lowered my pledge to $1.00.  Who knew a ticket on the Titanic would go so cheap!?!?

And you are quite right for doing so TBC. I just read the comments on kickstarter and you were treated harsh to say the least. A owner of a company that wants to sell you stuff telling you to sod off if people give honest comments is strange.

cheers,
Za

I read through some of the comments on the BGG site and WTF.

seriously what are they thinking???

they have clawed back $200CAD in the last day.

with the current amount:

$18,617CAD and their goal is $39,000CAD.
They Need $1,567CAD per day for the next 13 days.

Kicktraq has them only pulling in $1,095CAD per day but considering yesterday they were -$279CAD I just can not see this getting funded in its current form.

Cheers Za.  Based upon all the problems with Sedition Wars that people posted here as well as the fraud from the Cthulu/Monopoly game lase year, I think it's important to really ask hard questions about people's projects.  The fact that he refuses to address these issues seems to me that he has few answers...

Fun fact, he tried to have me banned today from KS....lol  I see Miles going very far in life.

OMG  :o lol  :o

that is bizarre...

@TBC you know he will blame you and the others [ME!!!] for his project failing and not his work ethics, business sense or lack of it.

at present he is needing $1,563CAD per day just to get to the basic funding level. and the $79K goal  is needing $4,640CAD per day to get to it... pipe dream..

its slipping out of his grasp and control.

Crazy huh?  The boy seems to have big issues, I hope he seeks some counseling....

I let KS know that he sent me a PM to 'get lost' and that he's engaged in threatening and intimidating conduct on KS as well as the BGG boards.

LGW, some folks walk through their lives blaming everyone else for their mistakes.  When I worked in the private sector, I always knew this type.  They generally made some sort of statement like, "At work, I never make mistakes!"  In my experience, you hear someone say that, watch out!  Big trouble!

Kicktraq trended this to 34k or so.....  He has only himself to blame, and the funny thing is, how many people actually told him that his bullying was part of the reason they dropped their pledge.

I'm thinking of printing out Outrider and giving it a go.....

Outrider looks fantastic and with the future plans that Greg has its only going to get bigger and better.

He is already looking at what scales he could release with many gamers asking for 15mm rules...

I told him even though I have a printed version I'd back for a professional copy and give the copy I have to a mate to use.

With the endless amount of Potential in cars [eg Hot wheels] you customize your vehicle from adding in supercharged engine to kill markings to a freakkin mortar.

Only thing I am wanting to do is dusty up the cars before I give them a mat finish. Really tempted to make up a custom board that can do on and off road.[which there are rules for this in the current version you don't have to wait till the 5th edition to get the off road rules]

I might make a city scape just need to down load some 20mm scale buildings.

let me know how you go with Outrider... hoping to get a game real soon.

Cheers

If anything, this had me go back through my hard drive as I was *sure* I bought Outrider awhile back and... Yep, there it was. I think maybe the amount of printing involved turned me off from getting a hard copy up and going. It also didn't match my converted die cast cars I had set up for using Road Rage. I just can't remember if I bought Outrider and Road Rage at the same time and went with Road Rage or if I just bought Outrider to check out an alternative.

I may well print out Outrider as my boys may enjoy that more than Road Rage. They tend to think Road Rage takes a little too long between turns. If anything this thread made me give Outrider a second look.

my kids find using movement dials, or cards easier. as they can plan out the moves by looking at the shape of the card and directions.

just hoping they learn how to plan out their moves better and not crash into each other like they do with X-Wing.

I also downloaded a few things off the BGG site like the all in one dash board that can have all of the various tokens and markers on it.

looking forward to seeing the future expansions for this game.

for me its nice to see a designer more interested in getting good rules out there rather then expensive minis..

Sheesh.... even GW was not stupid enough to ignore the potential of Matchbox/Hot Wheels when they did their car game.

I gotta dig that up, it was kinda fun.

Plus there is the obvious thing of just getting Car Wars and upscaling it for model cars. Used to play that a lot back in the day.

You know what the worst part is? If this had been a complete game sold for a reasonable price, just a kickstarter to get their production going so they can then get in stores. Everybody knows those KS campaigns, you tend to get good prices for your product there.
Had this been one of those campaigns I would have gladly bought a copy. The small scale kind of appeals to me as it SHOULD help with a "everything you need in one box" kind of game. I don't think I need to point out the irony here.  :P
