SAGA: Normans vs. Varangian Guard
« on: September 25, 2013, 06:38:50 PM »
After a long break, we finally got to play another game last weekend and here is the report to go with it:

http://dhcwargamesblog.wordpress.com/2013/09/25/saga-normans-vs-varangian-guard/

I have also included some thoughts on playing a Varangian Guard Warband at the  end.

Enjoy,

Burkhard

And a little pre-view:

Looks good. I still fancy SAGA, but the funds are bit short ATM.
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Thank you, Mitch.

Take a look at the Gripping Beast plastic sets. You can get a full Warband out of a box of them. Vikings are especially good for that, since all their troops are foot troops. If you want, I still have more than half a box left from my Vikings.

Cheers

Burkhard, as far as the GB plastics go, you're preaching to the choir! lol My Sub-Roman army is 80% GB plastics.

It's the rules and supplements and espeically things like the fatigue tokens and SAGA dice that bring tears to my eyes, especially as I have armies from more than one. Every time I go to a convo and Big Daz is there demo'ing the game, I have another attack of "rules lust" and am glad I leave my credit cards at home! Still, Christmas is coming...
