There are however a significant number who like kickstarter, but dislike is what they see as an abuse of it.  They believe (with some justification) that better established companies such as CMON and Mantic use Kickstarter as a pre-order system for projects they could afford themselves
Even that number doesn't seem massively significant at the moment, in the light of this 4X:

"KS abuse" selling better than hotcakes there...

Anyway, as to the subject at hand: I'll prolly get interested myself if it starts to look like (some of) the minis will be produced in "hard plastic". Not so sure about resin, I've a bit of a doubt about its durability when used to make complete 28mm infantry miniatures intended as gaming pieces. The rules aren't much of incentive for me either but of course I'll check them out -- who knows, they might be great.

I've got a good number of resin figures and it depends on your play style.  Mine live in foam and are only play with by adults, so I haven't had much in the way of issues.  Anything other than that and I think all bets are off for the figures holding up.

The AI rep says that the KS is for

a background booklet (no rules yet) and lots of new models, however all the models we are KS'ing now will be fully usable with the first rules release!

I just pitched in on this. Something about it just grabbed me, can't quite put my finger on it. "Free shipping" was a factor - and something that Anvil might be taking a big hit for.

I suppose but then again maybe they are going to make up for it in the terms of miniature sales. They did have a very (suspiciously?) low funding limit so no surprise they are already nearing 2 x over mark. Maybe the KS funds go towards p&p :P

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for your feedback and support!

Stretch Goals - I'm going to put some up later today.  To be honest I've been totally overwhelmed by the level of support for this project, I was not expecting it to fund in the first few days, let alone under 3 hours!

Shipping - We included free shipping as I think its fairest for everyone, and keeps things nice and simple. We do take a hit on profits but we've planned for it from the beginning. Shipping on our main website is free over £35 already so its only fair to extend this to the KS.

Funding Goal - Yes it was set fairly low, as I wasn't sure how much demand there was and luckily resin manufacturing has quite low initial costs, any left over profits when we have shipped all pledges will be ploughed straight back into new miniatures and professional quality art and written material for the game.

Cheers,

Joel - Anvil Industry

They just posted a video with some pre-production models and I have to say that they look awesome, specially the Gun Tractors! I really hope that these last 46 hours bring more backers into the fold.
