Summer grasses,
All that remain
of soldiers' dreams.
- Matsuo Bashō
Having recently purchased quite a number of Perry Samurai minis (thanks Gladio Humanitas) it's time to start yet another project

And what better and sophisticated way to start it than with a nice haiku by Matsuo Bashō although Bashō is later period poet (by 50 years or so). Anyways, I got this nice book some 8 years ago from friend who studied in Japan:

Inspired by it and the Kurosawa's Ran movie I will be making few colour factions of the minis that I have now in my collection.
One faction/buntai, numbering 10 in total, will be blue (mainly pants etc as in the pic below):

Second faction will be classical red, numbering 18, as seen in the pic (armour in red):

Third samurai buntai, numbering 8, will mostly be black, white and grey with some colour splashes here and there:

Then there will be a bandit bundai, currently 10 members, few tough guys and more peasants, muted earthy colours:

Throw in few ninjas, ronin and monks and I think I will have a long-lasting project... once again.
I hope to get few blue bundai samurais painted during the weekend.
