Bolt action in 15mm with pics

So Iv decided to start a bolt action army in 15mm, the above is the start of this force.
I'm using battle front FOW miniatures as my local WarGameStore has almost the full range.

Dos anyone have any advice for me? Iv based each miniature on 1p's and teams on 2p's

Iv painted a few FOW miniatures in the past so I will follow the same process

I don't own the Bolt Action rules, so no advice, but I really like the looks of the figs you have painted.

So after I put my British para force together I went and had a look in my bits box and found I had a German HQ bluster a rifle platoon and a HMG section

Looks like Iv got the starts of a German force to, but it was late so sorry about the poor pic quality.
I will look through my storage as I do believe I have a tiger tank and a fire fly somewhere.
Il start to back fill each base tonight.

I think it is not allowed to play it in 15mm, or is it??

Nice idea. I'd considered 15mm too at some point but eventually went with 28's just because its what I'm used to. I'll be interested to follow your progress with this.

I have played it in 15s and it seemed to work fine without any changes to the distances etc.

I also based on 1ps and 2ps and then just used the FOW based HMG teams/ Mortar teams and vehicles. I only really needed to base up the spares of the infantry I had knocking about.

15mm actually matches the typical weapon ranges far better better than it does in 28mm... 12mm would be almost spot on.

Tonight's progress



Iv used Vallejo pumice to fill the gap in between the base of the base(penny's) and the side of the miniature.
Iv used this stuff before and I always apply it before I paint as I find it Easier to clean up rather than re painting any mistakes, it should take about 30 min to dry so il get cracking with the British paras.

While I wait for the pumis to dry Iv started to look at painting guides and remrmbered that I found this site ages ago and thought wow this is a site all ww2 miniature painters need to know about

So I had a spare hour today and was able to back fill all the bases for my British para force

This is what I now have ready to prime and then the mamouth job of painting it all starts



I think to bolster my Germans i will add a tiger tank as I have one sat about somewhere

Hi John,

This project is certainly interesting and taking Bolt Action rules to another level using 15 mm. Your the first I've noticed using this scale.

What will be interesting using 15 mm miniatures will be your opinion once you have had a game.

I can see some positives already in folks may wish to game other conflicts using this scale. For example, the SCW or Chaco War.

Interesting topic and please keep submitting reports.
