We occasionally get asked “yes but how strong is the card?”

Cue a pile of "How heavy is the brick?" questions...

Oh - it's a special fake super-light foam brick used as a prop in movies... weights about 2 grams.

Wait... did I just say that out loud?

Re: [LaserCutCard] Stacked containers plus bundle deal
« Reply #64 on: 12 March 2015, 08:41:40 AM »
We’ve created a new product to round out our container range – stacked containers.

We found that a lot of the time we were stacking the containers on top of one another and someone suggested we do a stacked set (as it would be cheaper than two individual ones).

And so here it is.

$16.95 for the set of stacked containers, and postage anywhere is $2 (the set has two stacks)

http://www.lasercutcard.co.za/shop/containers-stacked

Also, we’ve created a bundle deal that is any two of our container sets for $25.50 (postage is $4)

You can mix and match between

- set of 3 standard containers
- set of 2 stacks of containers
- container houses
- container shops
- container site office

Re: [LaserCutCard] Strength test #2
« Reply #65 on: 13 March 2015, 02:21:30 PM »
After our initial strength test (scroll back a bit if you did not see it), someone in the Infinity Australia facebook page asked if the picnic table could stand TWO bricks The answer is, one brick good, two bricks bad (but it can handle the weight of two bricks with assistance)

Nothing actually broke but it was very difficult to get the weight to stay exactly above the legs. If I held it in place, the legs could take the weight but as soon as I let go it would fall one way or the other to the side. I think my work table is not actually level.

I was quite impressed that the normal wood glue did not tear… the card just bent. I’ll have these back on the table after straightening the legs up.

Just to be clear... I am in no way implying that our stuff is stronger than anyone else's - these are just to say that our stuff is stronger than most people give card credit for.

This is a model that I am really excited about. The test build went together incredibly easily meaning all we have to do is think about detailing. When you compare it to some other flyers it is a little big and so the next test will scale it down a little but overall it worked out fantastically.

That's really nice.  I'm not sure a large version should necessarily be abandoned. maybe just reshape the cargo bay.  There is room in the market for a flyer that can fit a tank in the cargo hold.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

This is a valid point. For now though I want to make it a tad smaller because there is a guaranteed sale of three: me, for my Army Formerly Known As Imperial Guard.  8)

We could spin you a yarn about "march madness" or something if you want or we can just say "25% off everything till the end of March".

To get this, please use this coupon: LEADADVENT

It is case sensitive so rather copy and paste.

If you have never ordered anything from us before and are considering maybe using this, please read this to understand how our shipping options work:

The direct link to the shop is here: http://www.lasercutcard.co.za/shop/

If you want to dip your toe in the LaserCutCard water, then perhaps consider combining that coupon with our "ship for $1" options: http://www.lasercutcard.co.za/shop/one-dollar-shipping

Orc stuff: http://www.lasercutcard.co.za/shop/orc

Well you've got my attention!  Just made a small order of some container accessories and doors.

Any progress on a stairs-only kit?

Thanks!

Yes but it will only be cut next week as there is a backlog of new product to get through.

I'll post them here once they are done.

I haven't started to build my kits yet, but have been fiddling with them and must say they look pretty consistent and detailed, I like them a lot! :)

Now that you are expanding your ranges to larger kits (I'm highly interested in having a look at that flyer! :-*) what other stuff do you have in mind? My sci-fi urban projects may benefit a lot of your skills ::)

Re: [LaserCutCard] Seven cool tables
« Reply #74 on: 14 April 2015, 07:09:36 AM »
We supplied the scenery for a 40k tournament over this last weekend that was part of Icon By The Sea - a local gaming convention

Here are the tables we did

There are bigger images here: http://lasercutcard.co.za/2015/04/icon-by-the-sea-2015/

The container docks table was a highlight of the tournament.
Apart from featuring plenty of examples of our shipping container range, it also featured a container ship AND an escort destroyer.
The destroyer had three basilisks on it, each of which could be fired once per game.

The Necron table represented the surface of a world totally given over to a data matrix and featured an example of every single item in our Cyborg range

The “Infinity” table represented something unfamiliar to most 40k players: unruined buildings. It had all our Futurehab range on it

The art deco ruins table was a big favourite with all the players, being dominated by a huge skyscraper that had special rules attached to it. This used multiple versions of our art deco ruins

The ork table used all of our existing Orc range as well as our soon-to-be-released orc fort and orc bastion

The Nurgle table featured a large number of disturbing baby heads, showing that cute little dolls can be way way creepier than skulls.

The alpine table represented a 40k version of the Ardennes

The entire weekend was a blast and we will definitely be back next year, bigger and better.
