They look pretty darn good.  Are you planning on sticking a yolk on the other 2 wagons as well?

Looks pretty good Mason, especially for the price. Once you weather it I'm sure it will be a stunner.

I'm not sure what I prefer so far for stage coaches, (or if I even want one) the latest laser cut one looked pretty good, if a bit flat. But not sure it looks that much worse than the old glory 40mm diorama stage coach seen painted elsewhere in the forum. I guess it's great us talented bunch can make anything look good ;P

Cheers, chaps.
They are done now, other than the yokes, whch will be added when I know exactly which beasts will be pulling the other two carts.
I think that will be easier than attempting to make it the other way around.
The one with the yoke already added will be used as a stationary wagon, parked up with beasts removed, hence the yoke is resting on the ground.

Those look great so far :-* :-* :-*
Where are you going to get horses to pull them?
When you take better pictures can you add in some figures to show the scale of these
cheers

I wont have time to take better ones for a while.
Will these do for now?
 :D

I know they are just the same piccy cropped and enlarged, but they may help until better pics are taken.

Horses are from a few different sources, and I am still looking for oxen, mules etc...
There is a picture with a 28mm figure in the thread but I will take some scale comparison shots when I next get the camera out, mate.

The closeups show off the wagons to advantage...both look SPLENDID! VERY WELL DONE!

Mason,
Nice work on those, I was very pleased with mine as well.  I made one into a Hearse.  I ordered the bulk horse sprue set from Wargames Factory.  Got 12 horses, they look fine to my eye.

I have managed to pick up four of the wagons & one stage coach over the years. I heartilly recomend them. Having assembled & painted a Dixon chuck wagon (which is an excellent scale model & VERY detailed, down to coffee pot, cups & plates) I know which I want, as a wargamer, the pencil sharpener every time.

Nicely played Paul. You were right, and they will certainly look the business plopped down into a town, with a few gun slingers taking up position.
Cheers

Matt varnish? I dont think so.
They are not normally that shiny, it is probably the close proximity of the lamp on the washes that makes them look a little glossy.
Not bothered as they are only really 'set-dressing.'

Thank you, Amigo.
You are too kind.

Thanks, Nick!
I also have a hearse planned, it is one of the open back wagons, but I have to remove the damn ugly horse first.
There will also be a Doctors buggy type thing when I am done.

I will be checking out those WF horses very shortly.
Cheers for the tip-off.

I know exactly what you mean.
There are some fine models on the market, but nothing as easy as these when it comes to 'construction'.

Thanks, Thargor!
I look forward to seeing what you do with your own fleet of wooden wagons.

As we have a game planned soon, you may see just that very thing very soon.

The sickle in the fruitful field;
The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."
