Thanks Mason
BLAM is an annual event, that is held just outside London, where a group of British LAF members (and a few from overseas) meet up and take turns to put on games for others to play.
It takes place over the course of a weekend, Fri-Sun, and usually involves getting together for games, eating and drinking.
It is an invite-only thing at present due to a lack of space.
If you would like to be added to the 'list' for future attendance, give me a shout via PM and we can add your name to it.

Paul - this would look great for your western board...its 1/50 scale

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mantua-Models-Mississippi-Paddle-Steam-Boat-Kit-734-Wooden-Model-Kit-/141237160988?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item20e2640c1c

 lol lol

It is a great idea, but.......
Apart from the fact that that would dwarf the Creek that I will be building, and it would not really fit on the board that I intend to use, there is one other small consideration that comes to mind.......THE PRICE!!!
 :o :o :o

I seriously doubt that I have spent that much on the entire town so far.
 ;)

I reckon you could scratch one bud! ;)

That is the way I would go.
In fact, a paddle steamer or similar vessel is something that I have as an intention to build in the future at some point.
When I do, though, it will be to use AS the playing surface, not to sit on it.

Bearing in mind my 'intended project schedule' that will be some years away yet.
 ;)

You just couldnt resist the "upsell" could you? You had to make yours bigger, with guns, and anti-grav devices. You should make the Shield Helicarrier ;D

Somebody is bound to do a laser-cut kit for a steam paddler any day now, methinks.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I think that it is one of those things that everyone feels the need to do at some point.
Some are just better at resisting the urge than others....

Dont say that....he will need a bigger house soon as it is.

Yep, you are probably right.
There is an MDF version of everything else already.
Although in the dimensions that I am considering, it would be an expensive kit.

Anyways....I have a plan.

Won't be the first time Mason has been steamed, and ended up with the paddle...
