Cheers, Amigo!
 :)

 lol lol
Naughty boy!

Thank you, sir.
There are more Apaches on their way, so that becomes a distinct possibility soon.
 ;)

Work on the Church has continued.
I have added a couple of walls and done most of the basework....

...just a little tidying up and the last few details left to do.

Wow, any pointers on the further painting steps you have done as it looks superb! The walls are a very nice addition!

Cheers, Belgian.
The further steps were simply adding a fairly heavy drybrush of Yellow Ochre on top of the light brown colour that it was originally and gradually adding more white to the mix over several layers of drybrushing.

The key to this is to make sure that there is almost no paint on the brush as you build up the layers to avoid streaks.

The tiles were given an all over coat of diluted Army Painter Soft Tone to help bring out the details and then patches of Strong Tone were added for a little variety in colour.

The walls were given the same treatment as the plaster on the church, with the exposed bricks left a little darker.

Everything was then given a very light, very dry drybrush of off-white to weather it.

Then it was a simple matter of adding a variety of different basing materials and a few bits of clutter to get to the stage it is now.....

Just a few more little bits of detail to add and maybe something extra added before I call it finished now.

It's not a proper church without a bell. ;)

Looks great though :)

Cheers, mate.
I do enjoy working on bases, and it seems that you do too.

The cross is actually from the Frontline Church pack that I had left over from my Mordheim Church:

Adobe is pretty good fun to do.
Go on, CV: You know you want to.

 :D

I intend at least one more adobe setting for the town, just need some more MDF before I can get to that.

As for all this bell nonesense: Bells to the lot of you!
 :D

Only kidding.
A bell is one of the things that have yet to be added, just gotta find the little bugger first.

The Olde Tree..... The Town of Upsheet Creek UD:16/02
« Reply #2080 on: 16 February 2015, 08:29:49 AM »
Whilst I try and find the damn bell.....or give up and go and find a new chocolate bunny instead, I am going to have a go at something else that turned up in the post on Saturday.

This.....

Another pet shop thingy.

I think it should make a great bit of scenery for the Old West setting with minimal work, an ancient tree that has become dried out and maybe burnt out a little too.
Should make a nice change and be easy enough....

Still no sign of the bells...
I guess I will just have to make one myself.
 :)

In the meantime a little work was done on the Olde Tree.

Step 1: Surgically remove the feeding dish part (whack it with a hammer  :D)

Step 2: Glue back the bits that came off that should not have.... ::)

Step 3: Affix to a suitably sized piece of MDF (my last one).

Step 4: Slap various different shades of brown and grey paint on it and see what it looks like after that.

Here it is at this point....

I hope to finish this tomorrow...
