Great work as always.  I am amazed at the spin offs and directions this project has taken. All of them marvellous.  A really great thread to read.

Nice paint job on those Pinkertons. :)

Agreed.
I reckon that Jeff has done well with them.

Cheers, Gary.
Much appreciated.

As for spins-offs....here is another:

I recently picked up a couple of the 4Ground 'Buildings Under Construction' as I think that the material is perfect for this sort of thing.
It is also well worth it in the time saved in actually making one of these from scratch.

This will be the first of four buildings with Dice Towerrs incorperated into them.

I first drybrushed the whole thing, including the Dice Tower, with a bone colour.
This made sense as it would have been a pig to paint once it was put together.

I then started to put it together and discovered a rather fortuitous thing: The Dice Tower scales up perfectly with the 4Ground buildings!
What a bonus!
No extra work needed to make them compatible.
 :D

Here are some piccies of it at this moment....

Work shall continue later....

Looking good. I really like these under construction building. They really add a nice frontier town feel.

Do the dice rool out on the table or inside the building?

Think the plan was for them to roll out into a fenced in enclosure.

Is that a lid? Do you remove it then stick the dice in the top?

Glib remarks aside, those WIP construction sites are great!

Cheers

I agree that they should give the impression of the Town expanding.

Cheers, but a lot of the credit should go to you.

Yep, into an enclosure for this one.
Although that is a good idea, going into the building.....I may do that with the next one!
 :D

It is indeed.
I want it to look like a normal building when not in use.

They are, Matt, I agree.
I was tempted with more, but the Creek is reaching its size limit as it is.

Oh go on, buy some more. Any surplus buildings can find a home down under easy enough :D :D

Cheers
Matt.

Thanks for the very kind offer, mate, but I just have the four buildings (and the parts needed for the Hacienda) left now, so I dont think that I will need to be sending anything away.

I thought that it might give you a funny turn.
 ;D

To be fair, I think that these are perfect for what they are.
If someone made them in acrylic I would have bought those, just for the strength factor alone.
I will be reinforcing the weaker facade when it comes to the pimping stage, though.

 lol
Hopefully he will feel a little better when he sees that I am only using them a base to build on.
The poor lad..... ;D

I am building this one level at a time, and have gotten the ground floor to a stage where I am happy.
I have partially clad the walls, which will continue around the building so that it is not a completely blank shell but will still remain 'unfinished'.

Piccies of it in its current state...

The interior of the ground floor...

I am still torn as to whether or not to stick it all together, but I probably will for strength purposes alone ....

I'm glad that you're taking the time to finish it off and not leaving it in it's raw state (which I know you wouldn't).

To be fair I couldn't have felt much worse but it didn't help  lol

cheers

It is a good kit, but in its raw state it looks exactly what it is: Cut MDF.
I reckon that it has to have some work done on it and I have to admit that I am enjoy doing it.
 :D

Sorry to hear you are still rough, mate.
If it did make you feel worse then I am sorry.
It was not my fault....honest.

Ooh I like the construction materials lying around. Looks like one of those chaps that hasn't quite counted the cost before building, and has suddenly realises he needs extra planks, fibro, and stairs!

The lack of stairs with a mostly finished top floor is disturbing me now I've noticed it. Go the cheap option and make a ladder to stick in there?

Cheers
Matt.

Edit: get well bibbles
