As a way of not working on the paper I am suposed to be writing, I painted up this Reaper Fire Elemental:

I quite like the miniature - very elegant and simple, if a little bit silly (Fire with a perfect bum  ::) ). It is a cool, and archetypical, design, though. I like the rising dynamic of the pose, and the slender shape contrasted by the huge wings. Good stuff.

I loosely followed this tutorial in the painting, though it didnt quite turn out as well as I had hoped (mostly due to me not having the patience to properly blend stuff).

I haven't flocked the base yet, as the varnish is still drying.

Cheers! And thanks for reading.

Nice looking figure.

Don't forget when flocking the base the effects of the elemental on the grass - some dramatic burn effects would be great.

Definitely a will-do.  ;) You can even see the preparation for that as the mini stands now: I've darkened the earth around her feet, to represent searing.

I definitely plan to. I tried doing sci-fi but quickly found myself painting fantasy anyways.  ::)
I am wagering between a couple of projects to bring at the moment: My Open Combat demo table, a 4 player SoBH village raid scenario (I'd need to make a bit more terrain for that one) or Mayhem 10mm grand battle, depending on how I like the system.

But I'll for sure bring something  :D At the very least, the Open Combat stuff is ready to go.
I've been doing a couple of game-demos in the last couple of months to get a feel for it, as well.

That a Bones casting, or one of the metal ones?  Came out nicely regardless, just curious.

That sounds terrific. Word of advice from a professional idiot: Don't bite off more than Chewie!

It is more useful with one finished project than 23 that are 4.35% done.

If you need playtesting/players don't be afraid to call on the Dr.'s Viking and Zombie esquire. We have our daily lives in Århus after all.  lol

I might have to call upon you guys once something a bit more concrete manifests. I am thinking that, whatever I end up bringing, I'll try it out at Argonors Attic Attack.

***

I am on a bit of a painting slump at the moment, what with finals being over and me having no obligations whatsoever at the moment. But its a shame to waste away free time, so I've been forcing myself to dab a bit of paint onto some miniatures to get back into it.
Thus this guy got treated to a coat (Shown with a couple of friends as back-up):

He's from the Em-4/Mirliton Ex-grenadier Fantasy warriors. I still absolutely adore these sculpts. Very iconic.
The paintjob is quick and dirty, and the pictures definitely showcase my somewhat lazy aproach to armour  ::) Successive layers of drybrush, with a wash in the middle and an edge-highlight to finish off. It gets the job done to a decent standard.

I am working on a leader for the unit/hero for my human warband at the moment - When I have 6 of these guys painted up they'll fit perfectly into a Lion Rampant army, which is a bit of a long term project I've been working on since last Horisont.
I'll need a standard bearer at some point as well.

Thanks for reading and commenting y'all!

That is not too shabby at all. Big thumbs up. I need to take another look at Mirliton's offerings.

Check out Brink Of Battle, especially with the new fantasy supplement. It offers great customization and possibilities for warbands of all kinds while the core game allows you to field a wide historical variety divided into separate periods :)

There are a bunch of Brink of Battle related posts over at my blog, both Battle Reports and reviews of the books if you are interested: http://anatolisgameroom.blogspot.se/search/label/Brink%20of%20Battle

Hi Affun, just wanted to let you know our pdf's of Brink of Battle and Epic Heroes Fantasy are on serious sale on Lulu. Not sure if you ever got into it or not, but didn't want you to miss out with these fantastic warbands.  :)

I have been eyeing the sale, debating wether I can afford it with myself. I am sorta broke this month, but might spring for it anyways. :P

Edit: I just bought it. Don't say I am not one to blindly jump into a promotional offer. Besides, I need to read a propper set of rules after laughing/crying at the latest offering from GW.
