Of Gods and Mortals Celtic Warband - (update 25 nov.)
« on: 19 November 2013, 09:08:54 PM »
I ordered  the "Of Gods and Mortals" Celt Deal in september and read afterwards that it would not come out until late october. Could not wait that long so i got out a few heroic figs from my old celt army from 10 or 15 years ago and repainted the bits that i was not happy with.
Also it gave me a reason to order those lovely celtic/northern italian hill tribe command figs from Aventine Miniatures. http://www.aventineminiatures.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=9
So i am painting 2 types of celtic warband at the moment. A 3rd or 4th century BC italian celtic warband and a more wild barbaric british myth warband.
The gods and some rank and file will be in both.

Was intending to give the standard bearers cloak a celtic pattern but was so happy with it that i got scared i would ruin it.
Some more figs are nearly finished. Will post them soon.

Hi Robert,

excellent miniatures. Especially the skin parts look absolutely great.
I'm really looking forward to see them on the table soon.

Cheers

Lovely painting there sir!

I was going through the random miniatures that I have and found a load of the old Barbarian models carried by BlackTree Design. It got me thinking.

And that thinking resulted in deciding to put together a Cimmeria force using Crom as the god.

Very nice, the tartans especially are good looking without being overdone as they sometimes end up looking when people spend a lot of time on them.

On a personal side note, does anybody know if I can get a PDF of this game by paying with paypal? I want in on this, (probably at 15mm) but can't get my hands on it.  >:(

This is the Celt Deal extra miniature. Great figure. It was worth buying the deal for this figure.

It fits well with the Aventine Miniatures

Yes. The pretty place i live in is called Skyrim.  :)
The backdrop was a Skyrim poster from a computer games magazine. I have started to paint some hills in front of the mountains.

They are great - the "extra" miniature in particular.
