28mm Bactrian (Asian) Camel Figure Options
« on: December 09, 2013, 05:44:07 PM »
Hello all,

I would like to see what options there are out there as I would like to get quite a few to use.

Ideally I would like plain ones so that I can convert them them by adding baggage, riders, cannons, etc.

As of now I know of these (and I will add to list /update as suggestions come in):

Copplestone (baggage or plain)
Irregular (baggage - pretty nice one, plain - not as nice)
Ebob (plain) - beautiful model but no longer sold without production license
Foundry - Moghul camel gunners
The Assault Group (TAG)
Curteys Miniatures - pack camels (2)
Old Glory - Camel drummers in command pack

Who is producing adapted Ebob ones under license?

Hinterland Miniatures has this set on offer (everything sculpted by eBob), don't know, if these are Bactrian Camels, though:

You occasionally find them amongst Mongol ranges, so Curteys Miniatures, Old Glory etc might be a place to look

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Thanks all I added the recent suggestions to my list.

Maichus I too think those are dromedaries (and really good looking ones).

Listed as 'Camel train', so I thought they might be suitable.  ;)

Bactrian = 2 humps unless I am mistaken.

The Hinterland models must surely be "inter-war" to fit with the rest of the range. I don't think the pith helmet is very Napoleonic.

Victorian maybe, but Napoleanic might be stretching it.
