Gripping Beast Turks/ANZACs
« on: June 14, 2008, 05:43:30 AM »
Hi Guys,

Here are my latest artwork on these lovely figures. It may ahve taken me a little while to paint, but I'm just taking my time as I learn to paint. You can't see it here in these pics (I'll do more) but the sword knots are in red and yellow and there is plenty of shading that have gone into these figures. My poor photography doesn't do these lovely chaps justice!

Hi Helen, what green did you us on the Anzac officers uniform?  I am torn between painting my figures in green or english uniform.  Probably leaning more towards the green after seeing your figures.

Hi TK,

Thanks, the bases are Zinc plated whitworth 3/8" washers with a Brown Earth Acrylic Basing Mixture that has been painted over after drying with a GW Scorched Brown and water mix. Scorched Brown around the sides of the washer. Then the model is matt vanished.

Battlefield Accessories manufacture the mixture.

Hi Paul,

I mix my Vellejo paints with a Khaki Grey and Grey Green. Also Khaki Grey and German Camo Beige will give you a nice webbing effect.

I also use Field Drab and Khaki Grey for Asienkorps and Turks, plus Green Grey and English Uniform for Turks and ANZACs plus Khaki Grey and English uniform too. Loads of colour variations and all are shown on the figures in the pic.

Hope this helps.
Green Grey and Brown Olive is a good green colour for Turks officer and German jackets.
