They are sold under the brandname Simba and/or Superplay and are called castle falcon.

There are two versions, a round tower and a square tower version:

They are found regularly in biggish toystores. Sometimes go as high as £20-£27 or as low as £10-12.

I'm sure I have seen the set around, but the brand is new to me as wel, I don't think its a big name.

There is at least one very similar, but different set out there from another brand. I prefer this one to the other brand as on this one the connectors to attach the walls to the towers are fitting in the window openings, whereas on the other one, there are extra holes everywhere to fit the connectors that would require filling to make it look right.

This project is really cool. I like how each unit is pretty unique. makes the army look like a labor of love.

J

Then, things got complicated. I was listening to some music while tidying up my plastic mess, and ended up listening to music from Seven Samurai, Conan the Barbarian and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. The resulting model owes a little something to each of those:

I guess it's a sorcerer or wizard of some kind. In it, we have: Fireforge sergeant body, Warlord Roman head, Fireforge Mongol arms, Wargames Factory samurai armour and headpiece, and GW Flagellant chains, skulls and bones. I went through dozens of arm options for this before I figured out what I wanted to do with it - at various points, it was an L5R Lion Clan samurai (then I screwed up the polearm I was attempting to make), a barbarian with sword and shield (that was the Robin Hood influence), etc.

Unfortunately, I now prefer this model to my original Frostgrave wizard...

Love this model. Reminds me a lot of Takeda Shingen

The castle looks similar to one I got at a bootsale recently,I did wonder if it was to small for 28 mm .

Here's the start of my Frostgrave warband. (Assuming that is the right term).
Still a way to go yet but I thought I'd make a start. First up we have the Wizard and his apprentice, I wanted to go for a 'seer' style wizard so both of these will be getting blindfolds. Clearly their magical senses guide them.

Must say I approve of your choice of buildings and colour ;)  I made mine without seeing this thread...

Great minds...?

Had one of those cheap castle playsets a while back - not bad, but a bit of work required on the walls.

I've not painted a model in quite some time, what with one thing or another. This week, however, was a good week – a long-abandoned kitbash was resurrected, and a knight was built and painted!

I'm really pleased with him, and he's already got himself a back-story.

Very cool.  No pun intended.  Love his helmet  hanging on the belt.

Nicely kitbashed and nicely painted.I like your idea of more generic colours to allow more versatility and might do this with most of my thugs and thieves as less showy/poorer mercenaries.thanks for sharing

Real wonderful. Though I'd personally still put something on the shield. Merc or not, I'd guess he would still have a family crest of sorts that he would use. Other than that, wonderfully evocative model.
