Great project!

Wonderful thread!  :-*

Cheers lads! It may take a while, but I have more buildings planned from the future. So the city will keep on growing!

Looking forward to see them!

Those buildings are pretty sweet, and you've done an excellent job on them.

I wasn't sure what to paint a couple of days ago, so decided to do some super fast Civilians. Contrast paints with some easy highlights. Not the best ones, but fun to do. Models are from Golgo Island (conversion with a phone instead of a gun), Space Lords and Papsykels STL.

I hope to do some market stalls from Antenecotis soon, so I can -finally- do that Pulp Alley I always wanted to do.

These look good. I'm sure your market stalls will look fantastic. I can't wait to see what you cook up for Pulp Alley.

Thanks lads! And instead of market stalls...I painted a VTOL instead lol

It's the Cargo VTOL from Mad Mecha Guy that I bought back in 2015. Back then it looked cool and was one of the only bigger VTOLs you could get. But now in 2022 it's very blocky and oldschool compared to the sleek and curvy stls you can buy and print.
But that said, I like the design and fits my image of oldschool Cyberpunk. It makes for a great ride for salarymen who need to travel to their cubicles each day. No fancy and sleek VTOLs like the ones the rich corporate executives own, but just a flying block.
One cool thing about the model is that the passenger pod is separate and connects with magnets. This also goes for the thrusters, so you can place them in a vertical and horizontal position, whatever you like most.
The idea is to use it in Pulp Alley in the Perilous Island campaign for the Final Flight scenario. But of course it will be used in many more Cyberpunk games too!

Brillant new additions!  :o :o I have far too many unfinished projects, but one day I’ll add a cyberpunk one to them thanks to you!  lol

Cheers man! And yeah, Cyberpunk is very cool...but also takes a looooooot of time and work to complete.

Next additions: four Security Guards and a scared civilian. All from MERCS Recon. And not the best models, but all a lot of fun to paint. And I did them all in one evening, that was a nice achievement.

Great work!  8)

And I know exactly what you had to work with, so extra kudos on that.

Yours seem to actually have facial features, or did you paint them on? I have some in my pledge that are so bad, the faces are just one big blob. It's one of the reasons I've put my pledge up for sale, because I was sorely disappointed in the quality of the minis.

Also, the game, while the premise is really cool, was way too fiddly, with a ton of teeny-tiny card tokens, and all in all a bit too complex and gamey to my liking. A shame, because the whole Mercs universe felt a bit like Infinity light, and also their Myth game is an absolute blast to play.

But seeing what you have been able to achieve here, I might just take another look at the pile of minis in there... ;)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

So much mirrorshade excellence... It makes me want to turn my attention back to cyberpunk gaming.

I really wanted to like MERCS. I tried, really I did. I thought the setting and early sculpts were great. I still love my metal Kem Var squad. But the game was just so gimmicky and fussy. Like it tried to reinvent the wheel and came up with a pentagon; an inadequate answer to an unnecessary question.

Yeah the models are…interesting. They do have a lot of character and I really like that. But some of them don’t really have noses or very iffy details. But it’s okay, a bit of ahassle to paint on some details or exaggerate some parts, but workable.
The game itself (Recon…not the MERCS miniature game) is great IMO. Very cool stealth rules and the whole breach part is cinematic and climactic. But it’s not a game I play often, the flow of a game is too similar for that. But with the amount of board games in my attic, that’s okay 😄
Oh and I bought an all-in pledge for €60…that made it a nobrainer to buy.

So much mirrorshade excellence... It makes me want to turn my attention back to cyberpunk gaming.

I have no experience with MERCS, never played it. The whole thing with using the stat cards as measuring devices felt super stupid to me. But the board game Recon is very cool I think. Yeah, the rulebook is a mess, but fortunately you can find some great edited ones which work great. Then the game is very original and feels like you control a group runners infiltrating a corporation to fulfil a mission stealthily.

What an amazing work you've done on that hunk of MDF!

Cheers! And haha, yeah it is a big pile of wood lol
