I think you need to put a bit more information than a link.

Yep...agreed, if you have a blog, great - but post something here other than a link.  Particularly if you're brand new.

Lazy. Just copy the whole post and show it here. If people are interested enough (and they may be, home-made tanks are rad!) they'll probably be internet savvy enough to check out the blog.

Nice tanks. What scale are they?

With just a link it is more likely to send you to a dodgy site, if the poster wrote some text then had the link I would be more likely to then follow the link.

I agree with KT.

its one mouse click to open the blog. Like one click. Its harder to write about it than it is to click it.

Personally, I very rarely bother following links like this. Often they are just drive by blog boosters.

I come to certain forums regularly because of the engagement it gives you, the conversations some examples of work creates and ideas they inspire.

I would love to give a warm welcome to a newcomer but right now it feels like it would be trying to invite in the chap who has just stuffed a handful of junk mail through the door - he has no intention of stopping. . . .

Of course you could of posted explaining the reasons in a polite friendly manner, but I guess its easier to be a ass and saying stuff like "its not the best first post" or "lazy"

It's like being on Warseer

While I agree that it would be nice to have a teaser pic (which would create more interest in users to follow the link), King Tiger and Scurv have a valid point - would everyone involved please be a bit more polite.

The cardboard Leman Russ tanks give me a nice twinge of nostalgia, by the way - I used to build a lot of GW designs in paper back in the day, and great fun was had with them.

Also, Noigrim, who makes that tank which you used as a base for the "Baneblade"? I take it's a toy and I quite like the chassis, which could work for a couple of Scifi tank designs.
