cheap spaceships ?
« on: 10 February 2014, 07:58:07 PM »
Hi,

Is there any cheap (probably plastic?) spaceships source, not speaking of the EM4 fighters ?

I'm searching for bigger class starships (cruisers and stuff like that). THank you !

Dobbieshobbies.com has a small line of spaceship miniatures including Destroyers, Frigates, Light cruisers and also space bugs.

Cheers,

Same size you find cruisers and destroyers, usually. But not that price range.

I guess I'll have to scratchbuild them.

thanks

How about this collection of kits?

Yamato Mecha Collection Special Box

33 ships for a little over € 45,- (when ordering from HLJ) is not bad. Granted; not all of them are capital ships (there are a few fighters) but most should be easily converted into cruiser type ships with a little imagination...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Wow, flashback!  I sold off a bunch of those in metal (small size) several years ago.

Looks sweet.

Gracias,

Glenn

Yep, and many of those are available on Hobby Link Japan still - but not as a set (from what I've seen).

Not to stir up any undue urges, but the collection box is quite available at HLJ right now... :D

2-3 of them would make some amazing fleets, I'd repaint though myself

IDEA: If a couple different people buy them...you guys could even trade to end up with slightly larger matching fleets of certain ships.  Heck if I had the money I'd pick up that set ---- for absolutely no reason.

They don't come pre-painted like that I don't believe, but are in coloured plastic for certain parts.  I feel like a box of those ships would be good to just have stashed away in a closet until a game or need appears...might be time to ebay some stuff!  lol

They'd all be licensed, but a bunch of the old Star Trek, Star Wars, and Babylon 5 Micromachines, and some of the Star Trek Heroclix, can often be found relatively cheaply on eBay.
