The blue tones are especially striking - Corto Maltese and the other in that photo, and the kneeling Russian in the second photo.

I do feel sorry for the dog, though. If our own pulp games are any indication, the dog always dies. Doesn't matter the scenario, rules, or setting, the dog always dies in our pulp games.

Then I suppose this dog should find himself lucky that he's slated to be a minor plot point in our next game and not an active character!

Actually neither of the two images are full leagues. The Russian trackers/woodsmen (and their dog) will be extras/plot points for an upcoming game. And everyone's favourite Copplestone Mongolian Mata Hari was just a figure I had to paint.

That's not to say they won't be part of a league in the future.

How did you do the girlie's skin colour?

My usual white-guy skin recipe is GW Elf Flesh and Dwarf Flesh in some mixture, with a wash of Ogryn Flesh, then I re-apply some of the basecoat and also sometimes add highlights with more elf flesh. Though in practice, sometimes I do touchups or corrections with straight dwarf flesh or even sometimes a bit of other colours.

The darker Asian (and also Mediterranean) variation on that adds Tallarn Flesh to the mix and uses a Gryphonne Sepia wash instead.

It's a loose recipe, with some fudging from figure to figure. In this case she's just dark enough that she could even stand in for a very fair-skinned black woman.

My Corto Maltese on the previous page is a good example of a slightly more intermediate look. There he could be Mediterranean or just a white fellow with a good tan (which was the desired effect).
