Just a heads up for all Great Siege nerds. I enquired to the Order of Malta to get a list of the participating Knights:

"Dear Sir
In reference to your last request, you can find a complete list of all the knights who participated to the Great Siege in the following book: Dell'istoria della Sacra Religione et Ill(ustrissi)ma Militia di S. Gio Gierosol(imita)no (Part 3), by Giacomo Bosio, Rome : 1629, from page 504 to page 509.

This book is on consultation in our Library.

Fantastic! Thanks, traveller - I shall pass that on to dweller on Warlord's forum who's pretty obsessed with the siege. Can't recall whether the full list is in the English translation of Balbi di Correggio's account (via Fra Montalto) - I think he misses out Capitan Guaras and 100 lancers, so this is great. There is a transation in the Catholic Historical Review, but I'll be darned if I can find a copy. Here's another version of the siege story, slightly different take:
