My local 'The Works' (Barry S/Wales) currently has a selection of Nanometal Halo figures for £2 each - hidden in plain sight by the tills!

Not the greatest paintjob or sculpts mind!

there are Harry Potter ones too - looked at them briefly but I'm not even sure they would be repaintable.

Scarborough Works had both at £2, but there were a few in Poundland too (at only £1)
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

The Works has some Disney Infinity figures at £3.
Most are way too big to be much use, but there is an "Age of Ultron" robot that stands about 4 inches high, acceptably painted, that could make a good giant robot for Pulp/SF games.

In Home Bargins, UK, they are selling a Schleish DC figures. The Wonder Woman one might make a good titan, or with a paint job, a female Talos, £2.99.
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

Poundland have these (the two for one pound)
Hope to convert mine for use in Pulp, VBCW, Sealion, WW1. WW2 etc. etc.
The 28mm figure is for scale & does not come from Poundland.

The molds for those boats have been in production a long time! I had both of those exact boats as a kid, circa 1975.

B&M Bargains UK

Diecast (I think) models of the Stay Puft marshmallow man. About 100-150mm tall, so not to scale with 28mm but impressive all the same. £3.

Visited the 1-Euro-Store today.

Found a few bags of animals and one with big Cowboys.

I had no reference figure with me, so I had to guess. rhino and hippo work for me....;)

The big ape probably only a heroic setting like Conan.

And I love these Cowbys. Especially their original paintjob. The silver jacket is ace....:)
And 4 minis for just one Euro...is okay for me.

So I couldn't resist to put some paint on one of them.
Took me around an hour....;)

Not really finished, but I have to do some other hobby-stuff this evening....:D

Cheers,
Don

Very nice. Those animals look much nicer than the usual standard we see in pound shops in the UK.

For Burrows & Badgers players there are some small resin cast roses (blue & white. No idea why blue?) that can be easily spray painted a pale green to use as lettuces. In the area where they keep craft stuff.

For people looking for bigger projects, there a lot of large plastic Christmas baubles in a variety of styles (fluted, quilted, some covered in glitter, some with pointy ends). The glitter covered ones don't take paint well. The pointy ended ones can be cut in half to make Russian church roofs, some of the others can be cut in half to make SF buildings (or tents) or have legs fitted to make landed UFOs. The ones with a quilted pattern make reasonable looking hot air balloons.

slight necro on this thread, but it seems the most appropriate.

Found in ASDA this morning. I think it was £4 for the skull and £5 for the Buddha (or possibly the other way round)

Antelope skull that will be useful for pulp etc. Next to Hasslefree figure for scale

More Pulp usefulness. It's sold as a tealight holder, but a bit of weathering should make it more useful :)
