Lol I am terrible for it. All it takes is a film or book or even some image that sparks the slightest swing back to another project or if I feel suddenly inspired. I have to go with it whilst it lasts. I get burnt out on projects far too quickly.

I know this feeling all too well!

I started it two years ago and I've finally finished the Saloon to a standard I'm happy to use it on the table. The rooms upstairs will eventually be wallpapered and I've still to paint the furniture and bar for downstairs, but at last I can game on this thing. Also finished painting the mdf sheriff's office.

And the layout for game one of next week's Legends of the Old West game.

This looks excellent, the saloon is awsome.

How do you feel about MDF versus home build. They look good to me but the corners of the buildings with the interlocking joints always seem odd.

18 months from start and you are only just getting ready for a game - what patience you have!

Keep at it, and post the game please.

Looking great Mr Bukkit, bloody great.

The saloon is gonna be one hell of a place to drink and fight in when you have finished.
The town is shaping up really nicely too.
Full of character, it looks like a film set.

This extends to me, too.

Holy Moly!
That Saloon looks amazing.

The interiors of my houses still look way too blank and I don't know what would be a better option:
- Design suitable Wallpapers on PC and print them
- Use 'photo-design' papers you can find in Hobby Stores

What do you use for Wallpapering?

Thanks chaps. As always I'm working on other projects currently but will always return to the Old West when I feel it's draw.

For wallpaper, I found suitable craft papers with either striped designs or a Paisley type design that looks ok, it kind of has a dirtied/aged look about it which suits these buildings perfectly.

I don't know why but it's always around May, I find myself returning to this project. Me and some mates are planning a big get together sometime this summer and I plan on taking my town so we can play some games in the Wild West so I should be working on this a bit more.

So that there are enough miniatures for people to use I made a start on the back log. A few deaperados and a sheriff's deputy.

It's good to be back. It always feels like coming home when I return to the west. Lots to catch up on in this corner of the forum.

I'm looking forward to creating a lot more buildings for the town as it finally gets a bigger table.

A fantastic game of Legends of the Old West was had last night, introducing a mate to the rules. I played the lawmen and he the outlaws. Here are some of the highlights of the game.

The game was high noon. To keep things tense cards were drawn as the two gangs advanced down the Main Street. Whoever was the first to get a total of 20 or more on the cards lost their nerve and shot first, gifting the opposing leader experience. Sadly it was my Sheriff who lost his nerve and started proceedings, eager to take out the outlaw scum.

The two parties advance.

The lawmen duck behind the cover of a wall as the lead starts to fly causing casualties amongst the outlaws. The lawmen soon find themselves pinned however.

As the outlaws recover their wits the lawmen find themselves pinned down. The sheriff makes a heroic dash through the building and dives out of the window to get the drop on the outlaw leader.

The two leaders duel it out in the alley. The sheriff is grazed on the arm and misses his shot against the outlaw.

Meanwhile trying to break the stalemate, one of the vigilantes charges toward the outlaw tough hiding behind the rocks fanning his six gun. He misses completely.

The outlaw sniper sick of the Pinkerton agent taking shots at his men from the water tower, takes aim and kills the lawman.

As the outlaw charges the lawman on the roof, rifle raised like a club; his fellow outlaw takes aim with his sawed-off shotgun and tries to kill the lawman behind the wall and the lawman on the roof. Sadly for him the lawmen dust themselves off, unscathed by the cloud of destruction. The outlaw who charged on the roof however lies at the bemused feet of the lawman, in a puddle of blood, broken bone and buckshot.

The epic battle between the two leaders finally concluded as The sheriff tries to gain advantage by taking cover in the wagon, only to be gunned down as he does. Seeing his men shot up pretty bad and the enemy leader wounded, the outlaws decide to leave the battle, to live and fight another day.

Great stuff, mate.
That shot of the sniper picking out the Pinkie is my favourite.
