A fantastic game of Legends of the Old West was had last night, introducing a mate to the rules. I played the lawmen and he the outlaws. Here are some of the highlights of the game.
The game was high noon. To keep things tense cards were drawn as the two gangs advanced down the Main Street. Whoever was the first to get a total of 20 or more on the cards lost their nerve and shot first, gifting the opposing leader experience. Sadly it was my Sheriff who lost his nerve and started proceedings, eager to take out the outlaw scum.
The two parties advance.

The lawmen duck behind the cover of a wall as the lead starts to fly causing casualties amongst the outlaws. The lawmen soon find themselves pinned however.

As the outlaws recover their wits the lawmen find themselves pinned down. The sheriff makes a heroic dash through the building and dives out of the window to get the drop on the outlaw leader.
The two leaders duel it out in the alley. The sheriff is grazed on the arm and misses his shot against the outlaw.

Meanwhile trying to break the stalemate, one of the vigilantes charges toward the outlaw tough hiding behind the rocks fanning his six gun. He misses completely.

The outlaw sniper sick of the Pinkerton agent taking shots at his men from the water tower, takes aim and kills the lawman.

As the outlaw charges the lawman on the roof, rifle raised like a club; his fellow outlaw takes aim with his sawed-off shotgun and tries to kill the lawman behind the wall and the lawman on the roof. Sadly for him the lawmen dust themselves off, unscathed by the cloud of destruction. The outlaw who charged on the roof however lies at the bemused feet of the lawman, in a puddle of blood, broken bone and buckshot.

The epic battle between the two leaders finally concluded as The sheriff tries to gain advantage by taking cover in the wagon, only to be gunned down as he does. Seeing his men shot up pretty bad and the enemy leader wounded, the outlaws decide to leave the battle, to live and fight another day.
