Beutepanzer in Normandy
« on: July 02, 2008, 08:32:56 AM »
Hi,

I wrote generic scenarios about US Paras vs Beutepanzer fights at La Fière on D-Day in the last issue of the french magazine dedicated to historical miniatures, Vae Victie - Armées Miniatures #2.

http://vaevictis.histoireetcollections.com/publication-2126-vaevictis-thematique-n-2.html

There's an historical article about Beutepanzer in Normandy but unfortunetaly the first page is missing. So VaeVictis put the whole article on their website. There are some nice pictures of my figures and tanks illustrating the article (the ones we used for La Fière scenarios).

http://vaevictis.histoireetcollections.com/telecharger/14/vaevictisthema02-pages-43-44-45-pdf.html

And finally some pictures of La Fière that I took 2 months ago in Normady.

Cheers,

Olivier

Great work, Olivier! The illustrations are great, and the subject of Beutepanzers is really fascinating. Thanks for sharing that with us!

I know I'm going back 6 years on this post but the links no longer work, could you re-post them, please? My interest in the vehicles on the German side has been re-kindled for a current project.
Cheers,

Try this one.

It's old but most of its internal links still worked this morning.

Thanks and I have now ordered Panzers in Normandy Then and Now.

Do you happen to have any info on the SPGs and half tracks based on French vehicles?

Try this.

forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=23596

This thread has been running for 13 years so some of the oldest images have vanished - but it runs to 189 pages of information, pictures and links. I think it will be enough for you.

Hi,

Sorry for this late answer but I did not managed to find the original pdf copy of the article. So I had to rebuild it and upload it on my site :

Ah, merci beaucoup. And now to tax my schoolboy French.

The link to 189 pages of pictures and info pieces on Beutepanzer is also very interesting, I have been working my way through those.

Yep, love a copy of the PDF. I have a copy of the Then & Now series coming and will get the Spiel book next week. Looks like Mad Bob Miniatures, his KS and WG will be getting some more of my funds.  ;)
