What an awesome thread. Love the Manticore! A guy at school had one of the citadel early ones and it had been painted amazingly always brings back fond memories.

Love your brush skills.

Nice to see them all together in sharp pictures again - They still look great, but I believe I've said so multiple times.

We ought to get our stuff together and do a proper battle report again  ;)

Beatiful stuff and conversions

Thank you!

Everything you are doing it wonderfull, especially the manticore.

Thank you very much! I'm very satisfied with the manticore myself.

Brings back Wendy Pini flashbacks from back in the day.

I used to read those as a child. I wasn't thinking of that comic when I did the conversion, though. But now I feel an itch to make some elfquest like elves.

Thank you :D I know which one, you're talking about, I see a resemblance to my conversion.

Agreed.. maybe next time we play? It really does feel satisfying lining all the finished miniatures up like that. I'm doing a group photo of each warband.

Aaaaand off to the next warband. The Slaanesh guys and gals that you've seen some photos of already. well, here are the finished warband. Had some good games with these against Affun's dwarfs.

Lucius, the champion

M'buto, the captain

Sophia, an acolyte.

Greta, also an acolyte. Not really satisfied with this paint job.

the third acolyte. He is made using frostgrave, glade guard, dark elf and dark eldar parts.

The warrior, Hizaar.

Two chaos hounds

The three beastmen, I gave them names when I last played them in a game, but I can't remember them. They were an exercise in speedpainting, I only used washes and a finishing highlight, and it works really well I think.

Group photo

And a bonus. In the beginning of this summer, I went to a painting class with Roman from Massive Voodoo. We all got a daemonette to paint. The class lasted about three days and was very intense and a great learning experience. I didn't manage to finish it, but I'm pretty happy with it anyway. I think it's easy to tell, I've improved, when you compare this to some of these other Slaanesh figures I made last year.

Great stuff. I really like the beastmen - the speed technique worked superbly!

Thank's man. I like i too, I just can't figure out how to use that technique for painting something more realistic, say, human skin for example. But It really fits beastmen.

Very intelligent kit-bashing and choice of colours, this might be one of the first Slaaneshi warbands I see that doesn't fall in the typical exaggerated sexual features (which is a bit childish IMO) or the "paint everything purple".

Thank you. It was actually quite easy to sculpt. I've found that patience and willingness to sculpt in several stages is the key to an effective conversion with green stuff - it's a challenge, though, because I often start doing a conversion when I get a sudden spark of inspiration and then it can be frustrating to prolong the process with something as tedious as patience.

Thanks. I really like those three models especially this guy:

Such a cool pose.

I'm glad you noticed, as that was part of my mindset when creating the warband. There's way more to Slaanesh than S/M.

Well, as I mentioned on sunday, this is a huge update. My next warband are forest spirits, I also made a couple of spites, but they are very tiny, and I'm afraid I've lost them some where.

Anyway, the sculpt, I started several pages ago..

well, it didn't turn into a wardancer afterall, just too much work, and I grew bored of it. So this was the outcome.

As you can see, I used some dryad bits and a lot of green stuff. It was fun to make but the next two where way more satisfying, as I really succeeded in creating  a miniature version of the image inside my head. The painting technique is the same I used for the beastmen.

This one is made from scratch using green stuff, wire and a few dryad bits, mainly those treethings that's supposed to go on the back of the dryads.

The last one is pretty straight forward, I added some wood texture with green stuff and removed the silly apron all the dryads have, I think they look a lot more dynamic, once the apron is removed.

And, once again, a group photo.

aww man, these guys caused a lot of grief with their walls of wood and nasty trickery. Not including the little sprites though? Fond memories of massacring those guys  :D

As all of the others - A really nice warband.

Really nice work on those driads. They have an eerie thing all around... like ghosts I must say. Thumbs up to you!
