Not strictly 'Bush Wars', but found this bloke lurking in a bits box, so he can be an advisor to someone.

Looks pretty good. You can say he Is a Agricultural Engineer, Provideing experience and education to the locals.

Judging by pose and facial expression he’s advising them to stay away from his private stash of vodka.

Nice painting.

Why are Soviet magazines that colour?

Cheap batch of resin? The AK-74 mags were originally GRP resin/plastic. No doubt some functionary thought it would match the woodwork. Some of them are a really bright orange.

Curious fact, they also made AKM mags in the same stuff and you can see them occasionally pop up in photos from the ‘70s and ‘80s and beyond with client armies and guerilla groups.

Interesting they are GRP.

I think there is a magazine of similar colour on the cover of one of the Osprey Essential Histories books.

Having looked through this thread with alot of envy

I was wondering about the Under Fire 28mm RhSAS, do they come with the rucksacks/back packs and extra pouches you've been using?

I can't see them as optional extras on the website

Mmm... I just had a look myself and could see no mention of them.

I bought mine back in Feb 2019 and all the packs (Selous Scouts & RhSAS) came with a couple of the rucksacks & a couple of the 44 pattern small packs, I'd drop Bill an email and ask.

Type used by RhSAS/RLI etc, same design used by SADF in Naturia brown.

Useful items as they work well with other ranges, so good for convertions.

Small packs added to Eureka 'Aden' British to look like 1960's RLI:

you also mentioned adding pouches? Can't find anything suitable online?

If it's just ammo pouches I tend to make them out of Apoxie Sculp; add a little lump, prod it into a rectangle, use the tip of a scalple blade to make the lid, keep proding to get the shape you want. Let it cure for a while then add a bit to make the closure. I'm fairly new to using 'putty' for anything more adventurous than gap filling, so little rectangles seemed a good starting point. Had a go at hoods, webbing straps, rolled sleeves and some rather dodgy looking hands (see latest NAM conversions).
Recently tried adding some Rhodesian looking webbing/chest rigs and assault vests to some old 1/35 scale blokes (the waterbottles are from an old Tamiya kit).
