Have tacked tissue cloaks to another 40 minis.  Next step will be to shape them and fix them in place before adding GS detail:

Also a quick shot of the tokens that will be used for stolen supplies, plus some wolves, packhorses and sledges. Most of the supplies are by, I think, Boothhill Miniatures though the sacks are MiniatureMojo

My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Cheers chaps ....

A small name change from Wild Winter to Winter Wreaks Wild .... Well, I like it  lol

Anyways, progress with sculpting of bear people.

For BLAM the main body of troops will be made up from 12 multiparts (all male, I've had to defer the female fighters until I get round to making an 8 point force).

I'm getting close to finishing the legs/torsos with 4 complete and 8 requiring tidying up, addition of hoods/belts/knives and then basing. I also have 8 heads to finish and 8 pairs of arms to start.

The tribal leader is a straight sculpt, though he will have a separate arm that is extended forward though I have yet to decide on sword or axe. He wears a bear fur cloak.  Progress so far (still quite a big to do):

He has a dagger in his left hand and will - of course - have a long beard and long hair.

In other developments, I will be adding bears to the rules and have ordered the set of three from Foundry.

Looking good  8)

You have a proper momentum for this project :)

Will the leader have dagger/knife sheath on his right side and sword scabbard on left side?

Good question  :)

The sword (if it is a sword rather than an axe!) won't be so much a sword but something like a large, hefty, straight-bladed machete.  My thinking is that the Bear People won't have belted scabbards for these 'swords' - which are a rare item - but keep them in oiled wraps, perhaps carried on a shoulder strap when not fighting.  Given they spend all of their time in the snow, a belted scabbard seems quite impractical, a trip hazard etc.

The knife will have a scabbard - all of the troops have knives in neck or belt sheafs.

There's a view of the type of sword in this image (but ignore the shields as they're no longer being used):

Good idea with the machete like swords, good for hacking the opposition to pieces :)

The bear people sculps are great. :-* :-*

About scabards you can always sculp one or two with fur scabards as protection to the sword.

Thanks  :)

Just to note that at some point I will summarise the project on its very own website.

It's just a holding page at the mo but more will come  ;)

http://www.WinterWreaksWild.uk

In time it will start to look much like the SSS project website:

www.ScavengeSkirmishSurvive.co.uk

 ;)

Have added a To Do list to the website......

..... I find such lists to be quite motivating, though I know that they can cause some despair!  :D
