NEW! TBC's ADE Project: The Battle Bus DONE!
« on: 08 May 2014, 02:33:40 PM »
Hi All,

I started a project last year in 20mm for THW's All Things Zombie.  I intend to use it for that game, but I have to say the game itself feels quite dry and it sapped some of my enthusiasm.  However, with the publication of AtDE I found new life for my gear.  As I'm finishing up with my SAGA armies, I'm trying to prioritize projects that are more finished than not.  This one fits that bill, and it's always great to paint in a new scale for a while.

My game will not be in the UK, but in the States and in my home town. :D  I'll restart my thread with what I have and what I'm working on.  To start things off, I based and rebased some minis that have been waiting for paint.  I'm still using 5 euro cent coins and with my new basing stamps, I've come up with some really great bits.  I think that work in terms of scale and theme.  But, what do you guys think?

I'm not familiar with the AtDE Setting, judging by the Building Structures, this Place hasn't been abandoned for a very long Time,a Year maybe  ??? Most of the Windows are still intact,so are the Roofs...
nonetheless the overall Look is very atmospheric, you can cleary see that something sinister must have happened here  8)

i like the Stamped Bases much better than the flocked ones  :-X

As I'm finishing up with my SAGA armies

what no Normans then?  :'(

Sounds like a fun idea you need some more scattered terrain and stuff theres quite a few open space despite the buildings and cars.

Cheers!  I have about 100 GW DF minis and maybe 20 buildings in 1/72. So I thought this would be a great project for my table.  I can always paint up my 28's for other people's tables :D

I have a bunch of stuff I picked up at Acheson Creations.  His 20mm barricade, barrels, drums, etc are usually 50 cents or so.  A super great deal! I painted up about 4 pieces so far.  But more to come.  I'm also going to build a small playground and park to fill the back and break up the total urban terrain.

Oh, the Normans will come.  But I still need to order them and the DF minis have been staring at me for about 6 months... :D  This will refresh me to go back to Dark Ages stuff.

I like to set my games either right after the 'incident' or a year or two later.  But I also can add moss, etc to 'age' the buildings a bit more.  I've also made the roof removable on the gas station, so that would also help add some age.  I have a bunch of old cars to make VERY weathered too.

Cheers Mate!  I've loved the DF minis since I was a kid and this is a great way to use the heck out of them. I'm looking forward to coming home from my research trip to start painting again.

I look forward to some 20mil zombie goodness with Mr Peabs!  Great board!  At least cars are easier to get to scale in 20!  28's are awkward for that...

WOW!  18-0-0 on my survey!  Thanks to those of you who chose to give feedback!  And to everyone who decided to take a gander at my project!

I'll be home this weekend and cant wait to get a brush in my hand again.  After 2 weeks of research in libraries, frankly I'm pooped!  I need a little 'me time' with my favorite projects!

This is great! I love seeing people take ADE and personalise it with their own Gangs and settings! Are you changing the distances/scale for 20mm?

Thanks so much Mates!  I bought in on the minis, so cant wait to get some paint on them too!

As to scaling, I'm going to see how ADE works in 20mm, with everything else the same.  If it doesnt seem to make sense I'll fiddle with the ranges a bit, but either way I'll post up my progress!

Thanks again for all the support!

I think the ranges shouldn't be too much of an issue...after all, so long as all figures stick to the same, it should work. if your Gangs move vertically at all though, you might find they can jump or climb rather a long way for their relative heights!  lol

Be sure to let us know how it goes!
