Vehicle colours for white russian vehicles in BOB

Hi Guys

I have a Rolls Royce Armoured car and a Vickers medium tank that I want to use for my White Army in Back of beyond.

What Colour schemes would you recommend.

My 7 year old daughter thinks that pink would be good but she is a girl who likes pink in everything.

Any advice gratefully accepted.

Yes, my local club (Wessex Wargamers Winchester) has run one BoB campaign in the past and we're starting a new one in October. Individually, we also play one off games now and then. If you fancy a game sometime and aren't too far away in the wilds of Dorset, then you'd be very welcome to come along to the club. I'm sure we could run a BoB game for you to join in on. We meet every Tuesday evening between 7pm and 11pm at the Badger Farm community centre in Winchester (next to Sainsburys).

Apart from grey and green you might use the original british camouflage. The whites hadn't always the time to paint them new. I'm not sure they used Rolls Royce, but everything is possible.

You are probably right on all counts. I dunno at all, they all looked nice and I wanted no sorry........ needed them. So I thought I might be able to work them into a campaign which would be mid to late 20's. I try not to worry too much about historical accuracy unless it's obvious.

Can you do BoB crossed with Pulp sort of Bulp or PoB.

Could there have been some entrepreneurial middle men floating about somewhere?

I'm currently fleshing out some quick senarios for my chinese I have enough for two armies of 50 each.

Plus some Whites I have around 50 of those.

Two HLBS Pulitovs and these two which seem to work well together.

I thought two warlords having a spat and then the whites forging their own little empire, with my friend Khartoums reds forging their own empire.

Oh and I forgot about my train aswell.

So lots of scope.......

It's been 12 months of prep but we are almost there.

My son is 3 and would like the sky blue highlights and maybe the pink too   but we don't talk about that

It's the Back of Beyond so, provided you pay for your toys and can explain away their appearance in a reasonably convincing way, you can use whatever you like.

My Bolsheviks have a Rolls Royce armoured car, which they probably didn't have in working order at least, and my Japanese are getting an Austin armoured car, which they did have but isn't in the Japanese list. We've even created a couple of new army lists for our campaigns based on existing ones, namely the Czech Legion and a French Trans Asia Expedition, the latter based on the dinosaur hunter list but with Citroen Kegresse half tracks and an escort of French Colonial troops.

It's what makes it a fun game after all

Sorry Dodge, wasn't meaning to have a go at you. I was curious about the tank thing myself, that's all really.

There's nothing wrong with imaginary armies and invented conflicts with a near-real world setting, I do that kind of thing myself. While my Western Front Great War games are pretty historical, so far my WWI African adventures have all been made-up battles in fictional colonies. That way you don't have to play strictly by the book, and can add the odd thing that would make the game more fun. Like U-Boats. Almost any scenario can be improved by adding a U-Boat.

Such as the Battle of Naseby, for instance.

I've seen a photo of a R/R armoured car in red hands somewhere recently on the net so they certainly had at least one. And that allows me to get a Copplestone one!  Whoop-dee-doo!
