Thanks for the very positive responses everyone! Very gratifying.
@ Katsuhiko:

I know, I know. I usually do bases at the end once the whole unit is finished.
@ Cubs: I did not paint that effect. I hadn't noticed it until you mentioned it. I think it is some reflected glare from the flash I used. In person, I think these little buggers look extraordinarily alive (it's the quality put into the sculpting).
@ Kyusumu: the statues came from a Desolation of Smaug DVD pack (as bookends) that you can probably still get on Amazon or Ebay. They are getting expensive at this point though & I heard the quality of some of these was not good. Mine were fine. My primary army is a dwarven one so I considered them a must-have when I first saw them online.
I have a large unit of Kevin Adam's Gobbos that I will turn to eventually. I am currently undecided what color scheme to go with for them though (don't think I want to go lighter with this color run -too bright for me). Any suggestions? My painting mentor thinks I should just stick with the same run but I keep thinking I might want to try something different (a brownish-yellow run or something else). Again, any suggestions?
thanks again everyone-
