Better get this one in as it looks like a sprint to the finish is on the cards.

No 88 British Askari Standard Bearer

He is in fact a Perry's Sudanese Bazinger, he originally had a rifle over his left shoulder, i removed this and his left hand. I then filed a groove into his shoulder and glued the flagpole in position. I then had to sculpt a new left hand with green stuff which i haven't done before so new territory for me.
I don't know what the flags would have looked like, I used an old painted flag I had in my bits box from years ago before GMB and Flagdude came along.I suppose I could say that the Whiteman had his old Regimental flag presented to him before he set off for his African adventure and he has allowed the Askari to adopt it for good luck lol. Anyway it'll do for me.

No. 86  Colonel Hermann von Notmifalt

I have no idea where this figure came from, but I have had him sitting in my 'to finish' pile until this morning, when I finally finished him after I found this painting expedition.

Alright, this is just plain nuts. A week or two ago I checked my undercoated queue for minis suitable for the expedition. I found exactly this guy and thought "OK, this is so totally obscure that there's no way anyone else would do the same". (Well, to be honest, I've spent the last week cycling around the city and the surrounding countryside due to excellent weather, thus not even starting any painting.) lol

The answer is: West Wind GHM0006, "The Doctor and Reporter". There's barely a pic of it online. If you're interested in the matter, see the following links.

WW site, no pic of that model
BoB, everything from that pack painted except this guy
discussion here in 2009
more discussion here, 2012, pic dead?
finally, a pic in lead from a Swedish retailer

Let's see if I manage to find something even more obscure for participation (and some time too). :)

Agreed. That figure/conversion is rather splendid
"Ho, ho, ho! Well, if it isn't fat stinking billy goat Billy Boy in poison! How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap, stinking chip oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly thou!"

Well, nearly there, folks. Last ten spots. Best get motoring if you're not in the club yet and want to be.  :)

Excellent Darrell, I believe I have this figure in my spares box because I only used three of the command figures for my Askaris, I didn't think to paint these up as Ansar but I will now :)
