The web service provider (1&1) had a crash, a lot of servers (not only LAF) were offline. No idea what happens, the only answer I've received so far is vague "technical problems".

Randomly, I've had my "Show new replies to your posts." list include threads that were replied to today and then about 20 other threads stretching back to March 2013!

I had the same experience.  I was gone at a concert all day so I missed the outage. Perfect planning as it turned out.
