heroclix aliens
« on: 06 August 2008, 04:11:31 PM »
Inspired by Mr Dean and Mr Weiss, i recently bought the heroclix aliens for my spacehulk set, i have not repainted the figures as such, a few torso and tail swops here and there and rebased on some excellent pre cast resin bases i bought off ebay, the bases have been weighted with 2p size metal discs, im very pleased with the final look to the figures, just need some of the marines from gripping beast now........

Bloody Hell!!!! :o

Now that's really scary! I pity the poor marines that are going to take on those suckers.

I've been looking at these for possible AVP action in a modern city. Seeing them all horded up like that has re-newed my interest. Those bases are spot on and really set them off well.
Really nice job.

Cheers

I second Pappa's comments, they look very scary. I love what you have done with them. Now you have got me thinking about another project. Ahhr!

How many boxes did you buy to get that many?
How did you do the torso/tail swaps - simple glueing or did you have to pin them?

Nice one - first time I've seen somebody else's actual use for those bases. It's one thing making' em, it's a whole other actually seeing them "in the field"  :D

ah geronimo!! nice bases mate, ive bought quite a few off ebay recently from different sellers and yours are defo the best!

malamute: about 3 boxes worth plus one drone i got with the queen, the figures are easy to cut, i think superglue would be fine, but i pinned as well for added strength, wasnt too difficult really, theres an ebay seller called foxmerlin who sells the boxes cheaper than ive seen elsewhere on ebay about 7-10 quid a box

nice job, they really look ready to finsh off some marines. Somehow playing Space Hulk with those sockers looks way more scary to me than with the original models.

Now I'm looking for the boxes again. My local store couldn't get them, so ebay would be a nice option. However, foxmerlin gives only one hit when I look him up in ebay and he has no rating :( could you paste a link with his soter/sales? Maybe I just can;t find the right one (orr all you guys allready bought them before me :D)

They look incredible.  :o

I am so tempted to get a load myself now. I'd never play with them, but I'd look at them a lot. And probably sleep with one eye open.
