I found a rare deck of playing cards, depicting among others, Victor Emmanuel II and Garibaldi
(King of Hearts and Jack of Hearts respectively)

some more uniform plates
in the last plate from previous post  and also in a following second one. You can see the campaign appearance of a private of a "Cacciatori Btg" which participated in the quasi totality of battles of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies Army of 1860. As you can see except the colour of the pants, bluiesh grey instead of red and the yellow insigna on the long coat, and the badge on the shako, the cut of the  uniform is identical to the one of the line infantry..from quite a few picts the green/yellow épaulettes were'nt always used ..also the cacciatori sported trousers tucked into gaiters and also loose free over them ....so Gringo minis representing line infantry in coat could also be used for "Cacciatori" btgs

from the battle of Volturno...
The first picture represent a true episode...an attemp from a Neapolitan patrol that was reconoitring Garibaldini lines to storm the coach of Garibaldi himself...unfortunatly this eroic act did'nt succeeded..otherwise history would have changed..as usual the supposed to be "hero of two world" managed , as he did in 1867 at the Battle of Mentana, to escape with his horse..leaving his escort to be massacrated by incoming Neapolitan troops...
the second one on Castelmorrone were Garibaldini, according to the most famous legend among many about the false myth of the big man, made a sort of "Last Stand" among the ruins of castle, was in fact untrue...the totally  of them, practically unscathed, simply surrendered after ending ammunitions or will to fight..contrary to the Termopiliae the red shirts suffered a number of casualties comparable to no more than a brawl between holligans but, in any case, succeeeded in halting for some precious hours the flanking mouvment of Neapoliatn troops..

Excellent pictures Italwars. Thanks for sharing!

Was the greatcoat issued to all troops? If so then the Swiss (blue trousers and white epaulettes) and Marines would also be possible.

Cacciatore Reale is a bit more difficult though!!

Yes Emir the grey greatcoat  had been  issued to all troops..except cavalry (and probably horse art) that was issued with a very elegant white loose overcoat with cape..and Gendarmery that had also a caped tight blue greatcoat.
Beware about Swiss Regts ..if you are a wargamer like me that want to game only historical battles or part of them..instead of "what if" scenarios..the Swiss regts saw practically no action at all except the repression of Palermo rioters in 1848...in 1859 they were disbanded..so no action  Vs garibaldini or piedomentese...Anyway as they were very good troops even partially armed with Swiss Federal Rifled Carbine..the most accurate weapon available..after disbandment many were absorbed into Foreign Carabinieri Regiments (together with German/Bavarian volunteers enroling in the Kingdom Army for love of their charismatic Bavarian young Queen Sofia) and even into a newly raised  all Swiss Cacciatori Regiment, the 13 th....but obviously without  distinctive red tunics and flags with swiss cross..
In practice , with a generic, covered shako and  long coat winter/campaign dress mini...you can represent every kind of foot soldier of Neapolitan Army..icluding Guards, Elite Carabinieri and Tiragliatori and Cacciatori..with or without épaulettes. Variations, for minis purposes as i did, could be red trousers for Line and Guards with specific colourfor insigna, blue-grey one for Guards Lights like "Tiragliatori", Line Cacciatori and Foreign Carabinieri ..with a little imagination (slightly different equipment and more use of épaulettes) your Neapolitan troops could also double for Pontifical ones...hope it helps

first pict from a  plate from Zezon book..which is the classic contemporary reference on the Neapolitan Army..depicting the 10th Cacciatori in Campaign dress..trousers are loose and the green/yellow épaulettes are not present...his aspect do not differ too much from a Line infantryman. Second one depicting Neapolitan prisoners after battle of Volturno in various mixture of headgears, fatigue dress ecc...the 3rd one also tell us something about  the appearance of Neapolitan soldiers..shako, loose trousers, greatcoat, "bonnet de police". the last one a cavalryman (Guide) also in campaign dress.
