28mm Slovenes project
« on: September 15, 2014, 10:35:28 AM »
Hey guys,

To spare you the details (they can be found all over my blog if anyone really wants to know about it :D), I am working on 28mm Slovenes for my modern games.
To keep my options open, I am setting my campaign-to-be on a fictional Evergreen island, which also happens to be the place of a zombie apocalypse in a parallel universe.

My high hopes of sculpting every man individually broke at the reality check, so I settled on converting Empress US Army infantry and British pilots.

I started with the latter and decided to use them as an APC crew. One got a weapon swap and they both got helmets with a headset.

I am working on Bomb suit technician now and I am preparing a machine gun team. The different variants of the rifles should be with me this week and I will be able to start working on the ordinary guys.

I have the insurgents all done and will be posting them in a few days to hopefully keep the thread alive while I'm working on the others.

Naturally, comments and suggestions are always welcome!

Good painting and converting, thanks for sharing.

Just did some Google image searching - nice possibilities too.

Thanks guys! :D

As luck would have it, my rifles arrived and I'm already working on the fire teams (and MMG and so on :D). Those will be a bit more interesting hopefully.

Talking of my blog, by clicking appropriate tags (Slovenian army would be the most appropriate, I posted a lot of WIP photos if anyone is interested in the rifles, for example).

There is also a series of posts about the insurgents. While I don't mind gaming with the Taliban, I went for a more "European" look to my insurgents - based on WGF survivors:

A bomb tech for today. With a very slightly converted helmet. As usual, more info on my blog.

I also received my rifles, so I am working on the fire teams. I will post some WIP photos when I'll swap weapons on at least one fire team.
