Across the Dead Earth: Campaign game number FIVE!!!

The Objective was for the gangs to move up to the statue, get it on a wagon and haul it off at their starting section. There were three special rules this time.

STATUE: One ganger had to pass a Skill check to be able to move it, in that case half Speed and each try was one Action. Two gangers would not need to pass a Skill check and would move at full Speed, but at the lowest value.

WAGONS:   Each wagon could only house one Driver and one Passenger, with the Statue, only the Driver. To get the team to move, the Driver needed to pass a Skill check, but providing nothing else happened, they didn’t need to roll again to move a second time. The team would move up to 8” per action.
If gunfire was discharged within 6” from the team (including from Driver/ Passenger) , roll 2D6 to determine the teams behavior:
2-5 The wagon move 1D6” in a random direction as the team is disturbed by the noise. Driver may continue as before.
6-10 As above but the Driver need to pass a Skill check to get the team moving again.
11-12 The team bolts 16” in a completely random direction!!! Need to pass a Skill check to bring them under control again.
Driver and Passenger will enjoy +1 Cover and the horses are so vital to the objective that they can’t be harmed or targeted!

DECLINING VALUE: Any gang making it off the board with the statue on the wagon by the end of Round 3 will get 50 points. However, due to tarnishing or shot off pieces, each Round after 3 will deduct 10 points from the value, until by Round 7 and subsequent Rounds it is only worth a measly 10 points.

AFTERMATH: The Kimbolton Road Budgens Duffers won the game with 30 points to The Bunyan Road Skins 10, it was a bloody and costly battle on all sides!!! Igor is having an eye patch due to an injury affecting his aim, Olga is promoted to Assault Specialist and rewarded with an SMG and Handgrenade.

Next game will be the Sixth and final one in the AtDE campaign, stay tuned!!!

Thoroughly enjoyable - I'm a little sad that the tale of these two gangs is coming towards its conclusion!

As ever, great use of special rules.

Thanks!!! :D

Yep, they've both come a very long way from their humble Yob beginnings and if we had more time at our disposal we probably would've done more games. But alas, RL is unfortunately a beast that needs to be dealt with. HOWEVER, we have some plans for a glorious (and bloody!!!) Grand Finale, each gang attacks the others home base, designate who goes to the attack, who defends the home and hearth on both sides, assign traps/ tripwires/ ambuscades etc until there's only one gang remaining on the board!!!  :D
